Once two brothers lived at the edge of the forest. The older brother treated his younger brother very badly and ate all the food and took all his good clothes. One day, the older brother went to the forest in search of some wood to sell at the market. He came in front of a magical tree, wandering around cutting tree stalks after trees. The tree said to him, ‘Oh sir, please don’t cut my branch. If you leave me, I will give you my golden apple.
The older brother agreed, but he was disappointed with the apple tree. He succumbed to greed, and threatened to cut down the tree if he did not give it more apples. Instead the tree rained hundreds of tiny needles on the older brother. When the sun went down on the horizon, the older brother lay on the ground in pain.
The younger brother got worried and went in search of the older brother. She saw him with hundreds of needles dripping on her skin. She ran to her brother and, despite the pain, lovingly lifted every needle.When it was over, the older brother apologized for treating him badly and promised to be better from now on. The tree saw the big brother's heart change and gave them all the golden apples they needed.
