Saludos mis amigos blogueros, en el dia de hoy les traigo esta noticia que nos emociona a todos los venezolanos ya que Andres Borregales fue seleccionado por los Patriots en la sexta ronda del draft. Un sueño hecho realidad que nos llena de emoción y demuestra que el talento venezolano no tiene fronteras.
El venezolano Andrés Borregales, pateador que triunfó con los Miami Hurricanes del fútbol colegial, fue seleccionado por los New England Patriots en el lugar 182 de la sexta ronda del Draft 2025 de la NFL.
El nacido en Caracas es hermano del caraqueño José Borregales, pateador que también brilló con los Miami Hurracaines y en la NFL estuvo con los Tampa Bay Buccaneers en 2021.
Andrés, de 23 años, será el cuarto venezolano que juega en la NFL.
Antes que los hermanos Borregales estuvo Alan Pringle, nacido en Los Teques, quien se graduó en la Universidad Rice y jugó con Detroit Lions en 1975 como pateador.
En la década siguiente Patrick Agantino Ragusa, quien jugó en el fútbol colegial con la Universidad St. John’s. Ragusa, actuó para los New York Jets en la campaña de 1987.
Andrés Borregales se consagró en el 2024 como uno de los mejores patadores del fútbol universitario.
Es el máximo anotador histórico de Miami con 405 puntos.
En el 2024 terminó perfecto en los 62 intentos de puntos extra que pateó y acertó 18 de sus 19 intentos de gol de campo. El pateador ha sido dos veces seleccionado al primer equipo All-ACC.
Borregales terminó su carrera universitaria, que comenzó en 2021, con 74 goles de campo convertidos en 86 intentos para un 86 por ciento de efectividad y acertó 183 de 184 puntos extra, lo que lo convirtieron en uno de los prospectos más codiciados en su posición en este Draft.
