HIVE is Now Available on Ethereum, Base and Binance Smart Chain!
This is a piece of news I didn’t expect — but a good one!!
I had already caught a glimpse of something on the official Hive-Engine Discord server, but then I got confirmation after first reading a post by @curamax and then the official announcement by @clayboyn (which you can find here): as of about a day ago, it’s now possible to transfer HIVE to some EVM-compatible chains, namely Ethereum, Base, and Binance Smart Chain.
For those like me who don’t use centralized exchanges, this is BIG NEWS.
Just a few weeks ago I was thinking about how Hive was too isolated... and now, suddenly, thanks to the Splinterlands team and the Hive-Engine team, it’s possible to move HIVE onto other chains and trade it via DEXs.
Simply wow!
Now buying and selling HIVE is easy, fast, and much, much, much more decentralized.
The bridging operations are handled by Tribaldex (which is managed by the Hive-Engine team), while the bulk of the funds is securely held by the SPS DAO Treasurers — a group of users appointed by SPS stakeholders who already manage the SPS DAO funds through a multi-signature system that ensures transaction security.
For me, this is a fantastic solution that will allow me to operate with a freedom that, until this announcement, I couldn’t have even imagined.
The bridge fee is very low — just 0.30% — and the liquidity available on the various chains is decent. As long as you’re moving amounts in the hundreds of dollars, the price impact is acceptable; beyond that, it becomes significant.
So it’s not a suitable entry (or exit) point for a whale, but for the average user who moves small amounts, it’s a system that provides tremendous freedom, with no KYC and backed by the reliability of Splinterlands and Hive-Engine.
It’s true that Hive-Engine sometimes has issues due to DDOS attacks or similar, but transactions are always completed, and I’ve never lost funds or had to wait excessively long for an operation to go through.
Overall, this is an amazing development, and I hope the community will take full advantage of it — to reward the work of those who built and maintain it, and to demonstrate its usefulness.
Personally, I’ll try to always use it for my arbitrage operations :)
A small final note
At the moment, Hive-Engine is experiencing some issues, and all bridges — including this new one — are temporarily unavailable. Any transactions initiated right now will therefore only be completed once services are restored.
So, for now, we just need a little more patience before we can start using this new feature.

Questa è una notizia che non mi aspettavo, una di quelle belle però.
Avevo già intravisto qualcosa sul server Discord ufficiale di Hive-Engine, ma ne ho avuto poi conferma leggendo dapprima un post di @curamax e poi il post di annuncio ufficiale di @clayboyn (che trovate qua: da circa un giorno è possibile trasferire HIVE su alcune chains EVM compatibili, ossia Ethereum, Base e Binance Smart Chain.
Questa, per chi come me non si avvale di exchanges centralizzati, è una notizia BOMBA!
Neanche a farlo apposta qualche settimana fa riflettevo su come Hive fosse troppo isolata... ed ecco che all'improvviso, grazie al team di Splinterlands ed a quello di Hive-Engine, è possibile spostare su altre chain e scambiarlo tramite DEX.
Semplicemente wow!
Adesso vendere ed acquistare HIVE è facile, veloce e molto, molto, molto più decentralizzato.
Le operazioni di bridging sono infatti effettuate tramite Tribaldex (che è gestito dal team di Hive-Engine), mentre il grosso dei fondi è mantenuto al sicuro dal SPS DAO Treasurers, ossia un gruppo di utenti nominato dagli SPS stakeholerds e che già gestisce i fondi del SPS DAO con un sistema di multi-signature che assicura la sicurezza delle transazioni.
Per me si tratta di una soluzione fantastica, che mi consentirà di effettuare operazioni con una libertà che, fino all'annuncio di questa novità, neanche immaginavo possibile.
La commissione per effettuare l'operazione di bridge è molto bassa - appena lo 0.30% - e la liquidità disponibile sulle varie chains è decente - finchè si resta sulle centinaia di dollari il price impact è accettabile, oltre diventa rilevante.
Non sarà quindi un punto di ingresso (o uscita) utilizzabile da una whale, ma per l'utente medio, che deve muovere piccoli importi, è un sistema che fornisce una grandissima libertà, privo di KYC e garantito dall'affidabilità di Splinterlands ed Hive-Engine.
E' vero, Hive-Engine ha spesso qualche problema a causa di attacchi DDOS o simili, ma le transazioni vengono sempre completate e non mi è mai capito di perdere fondi o di dover attendere tempi eccessivamente lunghi per vedere un'operazione portata a termine.
Nel complesso si tratta perciò di una novità magnifica, che spero venga sfruttata dalla community ed utilizzata il più possibile, così da premiare il lavoro di chi l'ha create e di chi la mantiene e dimostrarne l'utilità.
Io, personalmente, cercherò di usarla sempre per le mie operazioni di arbitraggio :)

Segnalo che in questo momento Hive-Engine ha dei problemi e tutti i bridges, incluso questo nuovo, sono momentaneamente non disponibili; eventuali transazioni che dovessero venire avviate adesso verrebbero perciò portate a termine solo al momento di ripristino delle attività.
Per ora, perciò, bisogna avere ancora un po' di pazienza prima di poter utilizzare questa nuova funzione.
