Increasing My Share in the DEC:GRAIN Liquidity Pool
Among the various investment activities I carry out on Splinterlands, participating in liquidity pools is definitely the smallest and least significant one.
A few months ago I started a small experiment using just under 2,000 DEC to begin providing liquidity to the DEC:GRAIN pair.
To do this, I converted 1,000 DEC into GRAIN, paying a 10% swap fee, and then added both DEC and GRAIN to the pool.
Over these months the price of DEC and GRAIN has changed, reducing the amount of GRAIN in my position and increasing the amount of DEC: the price movements were different, with DEC losing more value than GRAIN.
For me this is great news, because my goal was precisely to end up with more DEC!
Not only that — in the meantime I also earned some fees which, although small, contributed to making the experiment a success.
In fact, if I withdrew the liquidity I'm providing to the pool today and converted GRAIN back into DEC, I would end up with more DEC than I had at the beginning.
Another 2000 DEC into the pool
My goal, however, is to grow this position so that one day I can end up with a more substantial gain: 100/200 DEC is too small of a profit, and I need much more if I want to eventually use this DEC to buy cards for my collection.
So I decided to add additional liquidity to the pool.
First, I converted 1000 DEC into GRAIN.
Then I selected the DEC:GRAIN pool and added the newly acquired GRAIN along with an equivalent amount of DEC.
Because of the 10% swap fee, the GRAIN I purchased is not worth 1000 DEC, but only 900.
Once these simple steps were completed, I was able to compare my position before I started...
... with the final one:
My share of the pool increased from 0.003% to 0.005% and the total value of my investment increased by 1 dollar.
Still a small amount, but definitely better than before.
And then?
Now I'll go back to monitoring this position, checking whether the amount of DEC I own will continue to increase.
Not only that — since the goal is to make this part of my investment more meaningful and interesting, I’m pretty sure I’ll keep adding more liquidity every time I accumulate 2,000 DEC in my account.
Thanks to my rental income I expect to reach this amount roughly twice a month, maybe even three times on occasion.
Once I have used 10,000 DEC in this way — so I still need another 6,000 — I’ll evaluate whether to continue or switch back to converting DEC into HIVE, waiting for an increase in HIVE’s price.
At the moment I’ve converted 30,000 DEC into HIVE and, considering the state of the market, I’m not sure whether it’s worth continuing this conversion or focusing on something else to make my investment more diversified and less exposed to the fluctuations of a single asset.

Aumento della Mia Partecipazione nella Pool di Liquidità DEC:GRAIN
Tra le varie attività di investimento che compio su Splinterlands, quella di partecipazione alle pool di liquidità è sicuramente quella più piccola e meno rilevante.
Alcuni mesi fa ho infatti avviato un piccolo esperimento utilizzando poco meno di 2.000 DEC per iniziare a fornire liquidità alla coppia DEC:GRAIN.
Per farlo ho convertito 1.000 DEC in GRAIN, pagando una commissione di swap del 10%, e poi ho aggiunto DEC e GRAIN alla pool.
Nel corso di questi mesi il prezzo di DEC e GRAIN è cambiato, riducendo il GRAIN di cui è composta la mia posizione ed aumentando invece il quantitativo di DEC: le variazioni di prezzo sono infatti state diverse, con DEC che perso più valore di GRAIN.
Per me si tratta di un'ottima notizia, perchè il mio obiettivo era proprio ottenere più DEC!
Non solo, nel mentre ho guadagno anche un po' di fees che, per quanto basse, hanno contribuito a rendere l'esperimento un successo.
Infatti, se oggi prelevassi la liquidità che fornisco alla pool e convertissi GRAIN in DEC, otterrei più DEC di quello che avevo all'inizio.
Altri 2000 DEC nella pool
Il mio obiettivo, però, è accrescere questa posizione, così da poter, un domani, ritrovarmi con un guadagno maggiore: 100/200 DEC sono un guadagno troppo basso ed ho bisogno di molto di più se voglio, un giorno, utilizzare questo DEC per acquistare carte da aggiungere alla mia collezione.
Ho quindi deciso di aggiungere ulteriore liquidità alla pool.
Per prima cosa ho convertito 1000 DEC in GRAIN.
Dopodiché ho selezionato la pool DEC:GRAIN ed ho aggiunto il GRAIN appena ottenuto, insieme ad una quantità equivalente di DEC.
A causa della commissione di swap del 10%, il GRAIN da me acquistato non equivale a 1000 DEC, ma solo a 900.
Terminate queste semplici operazioni ho potuto confrontare la mia posizione prima di iniziare...
... con quella finale:
Il mio share della pool è passato dallo 0.003% allo 0.005% ed il valore complessivo del mio investimento è aumentato di 1 dollaro.
Sempre un piccolo importo, ma sicuramente meglio di prima
E poi?
Adesso tornerò a monitorare questa posizione, controllando se il quantitativo di DEC in mio possesso continuerà ad aumentare.
Non solo, dato che l'obiettivo è rendere anche questa parte del mio investimento più rilevante ed interessante, credo proprio che continuerò ad aggiungere altra liquidità ogni volta che arriverò ad avere 2.000 DEC nel mio account.
Grazie alla mia rendita da noleggio mi aspetto di raggiungere questo importo all'incirca 2 volte al mese, forse anche 3 alcune volte.
Una volta che avrò utilizzato 10.000 DEC a questo modo - me ne mancano quindi altri 6.000 - valuterò se continuare o tornare a convertire DEC in HIVE, in attesa di un aumento di prezzo di quest'ultimo.
Al momento ho convertito 30.000 DEC in HIVE e, vista la situazione del mercato, non so se valga la pena continuare ad effettuare questa conversione oppure focalizzarmi anche su altro, in modo da rendere il mio investimento più vario e meno soggetto alle fluttuazioni di un solo asset.

Se dec più o meno si tiene stabile e hive dumpa, conviene ancora swappare dec per hive
Il problema di HIVE che sta dumpando un po' troppo per i miei gusti 😅
Tutte le crypto adesso vanno male, btc ha azzerato i guadagni di tutto un anno
Sarebbe bello se anche HIVE avesse azzerato solo quelli di quest'anno 🤣
