VSC Network Rebranding to Magi Network
Just a few days ago came the official announcement of the VSC Network rebrand: the philosophy and goals of this ambitious Hive layer 2 remain the same, but the name changes completely.
From Virtual Smart Contracts — a name perhaps a bit vague and generic (even though I actually liked the acronym, VSC!) — it now becomes Magi Network, evoking the “magic” that will drive this entire system, whose goal is to connect all blockchains through a single platform.
The logo has also changed, clearly inspired by the new name:
Personally, I didn’t dislike the old one either, even if it was definitely simpler.
The new one, however, undeniably has a much stronger identity — not to mention a beautiful color palette — purple is one of my favorite colors. 😂
Another thing I really appreciate is that the rebrand already extends to the official website, which now redirects to magi.eco — the new link — even for those who try to connect through the old URL. It also integrates the new name and logo everywhere, removing any chance of confusion for users visiting the site for the first time.
There are a few small errors here and there, but nothing that can’t be fixed quickly — such as the social links at the bottom of the page, which still lead to the old accounts.
Or the blog button at the top of the homepage, which still links to the @vsc.network account instead of the new @magi.network one.
Minor details, really — and they’ll probably be corrected soon.
A long wait, but we’re getting closer
Development on the Magi Network has been ongoing for quite some time, but recently we’re finally starting to see increasingly tangible results.
It’s already possible to transfer HIVE and HBD from Hive to the Magi Network.
And you can also connect an EVM wallet to the Magi Network and receive HIVE and HBD directly to that wallet.
The first liquidity pools will also be launched shortly... although the release has been postponed until after the next Hive hard fork.
The addition of liquidity pools is a fundamental step, which should make it easy to swap between the native versions of different assets, all while remaining on the Magi Network and using a single wallet.
At first, only a few tokens will be supported (BTC and DASH, in addition to HIVE and HBD), but I hope liquidity will be strong. For this purpose, there might be specific incentives to encourage users to provide more liquidity.
So I’ll be keeping an eye on Altera — the platform that allows access to the Magi Network and manages your wallet — to immediately catch any new developments or opportunities.

Il VSC Network Cambia Nome e Diventa Magi Network
E' di pochi giorni fa l'annuncio ufficiale del rebrand del VSC Network: restano invariati la filosofia e gli obiettivi di questo ambizioso layer 2 di Hive, ma cambia completamente il nome.
Da Virtual Smart Contracts, un nome forse un po' vago e generico (anche se la sigla, VSC, a me piaceva!) si passa a Magi Network, che richiama la "magia" che muoverà questo intero sistema, il cui obiettivo è quello di collegare tutte le chain attraverso un'unica piattaforma.
Cambia anche il logo, che si rifà chiaramente al nuovo nome:
Personalmente anche qui non mi dispiaceva quello vecchio, per quanto fosse sicuramente semplice.
Quello nuovo però ha indubbiamente un'identità molto più forte... oltre che una bella palette cromatica - il viola è fra i miei colori preferiti. 😂
Una cosa che apprezzo molto, inoltre, è che il rebrand ha già anche coinvolto il sito ufficiale, che non solo punta a magi.eco - il nuovo link - anche per chi cercasse di connettersi tramite il vecchio url, ma incorpora anche il nuovo nome e logo ovunque, eliminando ogni possibilità di confusione per coloro che si apprestano a connettersi per la prima volta al sito.
C'è qualche piccolo errore qui e là, ma nulla che non possa essere sistemato velocemente, come i link social in fondo alla pagina che rinviano ai vecchi account.
Oppure il tasto blog in cima alla homepage, che rimanda all'account @vsc.network, invece che al nuovo account @magi.network.
Piccole cose appunto, che probabilmente saranno corrette in poco tempo.
Una lunga attesa, ma ci stiamo avvicinando
Lo sviluppo del Magi Network prosegue ormai da parecchio tempo, ma recentemente si stanno cominciando a vedere sempre più risultati concreti.
E' già infatti possibile trasferire HIVE ed HBD da Hive al Magi Network.
Ed è anche possibile collegare un wallet EVM al Magi Network e ricevere su questo wallet HIVE ed HBD.
Tra poco tempo saranno inoltre lanciate le prime liquidity pools... anche se il rilascio è stato posticipato a dopo il prossimo hard-fork di Hive.
L'aggiuntò delle liquidity pools è uno step fondamentale, che dovrebbe consentire di eseguire facilmente swap tra le versioni native di diversi assets, il tutto restando sempre sul Magi Network ed utilizzando un unico wallet.
All'inizio saranno supportati pochissimi tokens (BTC e DASH, oltre ad HIVE e HBD), ma spero che la liquidità sia buona: a questo scopo, può darsi che siano previsti degli appositi incentivi, così da invogliare gli utenti a fornire ulteriore liquidità.
Terrò d'occhio quindi Altera, la piattaforma che consente di accedere al Magi Network e gestire il proprio portafoglio per scoprire subito eventuali novità ed opportunità.
