Before and after
Hello everyone dear friends and welcome back to my blog. On April 15, 2019, a violent fire destroyed the roof and the flèche, the famous spire of Notre Dame Cathedral.
Given that the spire was not the original one of 1220-1240, but rebuilt in 1859 on a project by the famous architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc.
The major loss was the collapse of the original 13th century wooden beam roof. There are at least 12 architectural firm projects proposing new solutions for the cathedral. If you want to take a look this is the link:12 awe-inspiring design proposals to rebuild Notre Dame
When I was on Steemit I had posted a watercolor representing the fire of the Notre Dame tower, today it came back in my hands and I modified it to complete it.
I increased the expressive force of the fire and the clouds of smoke, and I highlighted more the structure of the tower with shots of yellow and orange light.

Il 15 aprile 2019 un violento incendio distrusse il tetto e la flèche, la famosa guglia della cattedrale di Notre Dame. Premesso che la guglia non era quella originale del 1220-1240, ma ricostruita nel 1859 su progetto del famoso architetto Eugène Viollet-le-Duc.
La grave perdita è consistita soprattutto nel crollo del tetto in travi di legno originali del 13° secolo. Ci sono almeno 12 progetti di studi di architettura che propongono nuove soluzioni per la cattedrale. Quando ero su Steemit avevo postato un acquarello che rappresentava l'incendio della torre di Notre Dame, oggi mi è tornato tra le mani e l'ho modificato portandolo a termine.
Ho aumentato la forza espressiva del fuoco e delle nuvole di fumo, ed ho evidenziato maggiormente la struttura della torre con colpi di luce gialla e arancione. Vi lascio tutti gli steps della realizzazione e mi auguro che il mio acquarello vi piaccia.

The watercolour technique did magic giving life to fire and smoke.
Besides the colours, fire on a gothic building, the compositions... They couldn't possibly be more catchy!
