Gothic landscape with Roman bridge.
Hello everyone dear friends and welcome back to my blog. Today with my watercolor we move to the cold of northern Europe, because I imagined a cold country scene with gothic elements.
So what does the Roman bridge have to do with a Nordic scene?
As you no doubt know, the Romans with their empire conquered almost all of Europe, northern Africa and part of Asia Minor in almost six hundred years. The Romans were skilled architects and builders of majestic buildings, amphitheaters, gigantic temples, honorary columns, basilicas and above all the many-arched bridges.
The Roman troops reached the United Kingdom and when they were forced to withdraw they left great engineering works such as aqueducts and bridges. So I decided to make a watercolor that would give the feeling of northern Europe with gothic constructions and a cold climate.

Paesaggio gotico con ponte romano.
Ciao a tutti cari amici e ben tornati sul mio blog. Oggi con il mio acquarello ci trasferiamo al freddo del nord Europa, perchè ho immaginato una fredda scena campestre con elementi gotici.
E allora cosa centra il ponte romano con una scena nordica?
Come senz'altro sapete i romani con il loro impero conquistarono in quasi seicento anni quasi tutta l'Europa, l'Africa settenrionale e parte dell'Asia Minore. I romani furono abili architetti e costruttori di maestosi edifici, anfiteatri, templi giganteschi, colonne onorarie, basiliche e soprattutto i ponti a molte arcate.
Le truppe romane arrivarono fino nel Regno Unito e quando furono costretti al ritiro lasciarono grandi opere di ingegneria come acquedotti e ponti.
Così ho deciso di realizzare un acquarello che desse le sensazioni del nord europeo con costruzioni gotiche e un clima freddo.
