WORKING ON MY NEW ALABASTER SCULPTURE 😅

Hello dear friends,
I am continuing to work on the alabaster sculpture, and I am doing it mainly with the file, as it is very soft.
There has already been an improvement since the last time and I am having a lot of fun.
Here you can see some pictures of the progress.

Ciao cari amici,
sto continuando a lavorare alla scultura in albastro, e procedo sopratutto con la lime, visto che é molto morbido.
C' é stato giá un miglioramento dall' ultima volta e mi sto divertendo molto.
Qui vedete qualche immagine del progresso.

Hi! Congratulations!
Since you use this material, I'm curious to ask you something: I know that alabaster was used in construction because of its opalescent characteristic, so it was used as window glass. Many churches have behind the apse, windows with alabaster glass.
How did they get panes thin enough to let light through, work without breaking it?

Thank you so much, it don't need to be so thin to see the light through ' cause the alabaster is a bit transparent, like a crystal 😃

Looking good so far I can see the form already. I can imagine it is a nice material to work with. Soft enough for hand tools but hard enough for permanence.

I am curious how it goes ..... looking forward to the finish.
Wondering: can the filings be saved and used, like mixing it into a painting ground? Long time ago I used modelling paste for a ground, which is basically marble dust in an acrylic (Rhoplex) binding.
