This photo was taken from a gate that provides access to the sea: it is actually a long extension l, called here arm built by man to defend the port from violent storms.
This gate is usually closed so that machines or motors cannot enter, making bathers safe from possible dangers.
In the background you can see the majestic Cathedral of Trani, built in the XII century AD, in Romanesque style, using the local white limestone. The Cathedral is called the queen of the Cathedrals, for its grandeur and its position by the sea ... A sort of sea guardian with a bell tower over 50 meters high.
Currently the Cathedral is under restoration. The proximity to the sea and time have put a strain on the power of the monument that for almost 1000 years has challenged the weather and the attacks of man.

Questa foto è stata scattata da un cancello che fornisce l'accesso al mare: è in realtà un lungo prolungamento l, chiamato qui braccio costruito dall'uomo a difesa del porto dalle mareggiate violente.
Questo cancello solitamente è chiuso affinché macchine o motori non possano entrare, rendendo sicuro i bagnanti da possibili pericoli.
Sullo sfondo potete notare la maestosa Cattedrale di Trani, costruita nel XII secolo d.C., in stile romanico, utilizzando la pietra bianca calcarea locale. Il Duomo è definito la regina delle Cattedrali, per la sua imponenza e la sua posizione in riva al mare... Una sorta di guardiano del mare con un campanile alto oltre 50 mt.
Attualmente la Cattedrale è in restauro. La vicinanza al mare ed il tempo hanno messo a dura prova la possanza del monumento che da quasi 1000 anni sfida le intemperie del tempo e gli attacchi dell'uomo.

Sisi, è un cattedrale costruita su 3 livelli. Il livello più basso, che si trova sotto il livello del mare, è una cripta risalente al XI secolo d.C. poi vi è la Chiesa al piano terra e infine la grande chiesa superiore al primo piano.
Una meraviglia!
