A sinner

We all like to think we are good people, but the truth is that every one of us has sinned. Sin is not only about doing something obviously wrong. It also includes the things we fail to do, the wrong thoughts we entertain, the lies we tell, the pride we carry, and the times we choose our own way instead of God’s. Whether we admit it or not, no one has lived a perfect life.

Being a sinner means we fall short of God’s standard. We make mistakes, hurt others, and sometimes ignore what we know is right. There are moments when guilt follows us because deep down we know we could have done better. No amount of good deeds can completely erase the wrong things we have done. That is why we all need God’s mercy.

The good news is that our story does not end with sin. God knows our weaknesses, yet He still loves us. He does not wait for us to become perfect before accepting us. Instead, He calls us to come to Him with honest hearts, admit our sins, and ask for His forgiveness. Through Jesus Christ, we are given the opportunity to start again. His sacrifice on the cross made forgiveness available to everyone who believes in Him.

Living as a Christian does not mean we will never sin again, but it means we choose to keep turning back to God whenever we fall. We learn from our mistakes, ask for strength to overcome temptation, and trust God to keep changing us day by day. Recognizing that we are sinners should make us humble, not hopeless. It reminds us that we all need God’s grace, and it encourages us to show the same mercy to others that God has shown to us.
