Dancing is an art. Not just a performative movement.

In every step and action is a displayal of profound elegance. An artistic portrayal of profound beauty and freedom. Not everyone is blessed with being able to manoeuvre there bodies elegantly. I cherish my ability to do so with pride. Many people lack the confidence and passion to do so.

Being able to express yourself through choreography and dancing in all manners is a captivating feeling and experience. To me it’s my form of music. Of joy. Praise. And upmost pleasure. It keeps me happy and improves my sense of self worth and ability as well as my emotional wellbeing.

Dancing did not only uphold my mental health but also my physical state of wellbeing. It keeps you body moving and ensures your in constant state of motion. Which is more or less of an exercise. Overtime it improved my agility, balance and stamina. I’ve also realised it improved my flexibility and helped toning out my multiple muscle groups in my body such as my legs, core and hips. Just as much as it functions as art and expression it also functions as a physical exercise anyone person can do regardless of their age or circumstance.

In different parts of the world dancing can mean many things. In some places it’s a major contribution to social life and mass communication. In many places in Africa dancing is used as a form of storytelling or ritual representation. It’s also used as a major expression of cultural heritage and heroism. Dancing has a universal appeal and meaning in all places across the world and beyond.

All in dancing is isn’t just dancing but a in it is a creative footwork meant to inspire, express and captivate. It leads people and paves the way for creative identity. It stimulates relationships, cultural diversity and connectivity and also acts as a form of meditation and reflection. It teaches just as much as it encourages, contributes to less stress and self esteem. Propagates a feeling of peace, happiness and health and the list goes on. Take pride in dancing. Take pride in the beauty of your body and what God gave you. Your hands, feet and legs were also meant to serve as praise. Not just work.
