Not so keen on social media evangelism and Gen Z content gimmicks but I guess it was just in my nature to make my own UGC as flamboyantly engaging as possible. Cringeworthy but seemed pretty standard given the feedback I got. I guess the dancing did most of the justice.

All thanks to Over the past two weeks, I have had the chance to participate in a training program on UGC (User Generated Content), which proved to be an eye-opening experience for me.

The training was divided into two sections. In the first week, I was introduced to content creation. What does it actually mean to create content? What is content creation all about? I started to understand that content creation is not just about posting online.

The second week was a lot more practical and introduced us to the concept of UGC, where we learned how the average person could create content for a brand without necessarily being an influencer. One thing that caught my attention was the realization that, in the world of UGC, the content creator is the niche. This means that it is all about being real, relatable, and communicating rather than necessarily having to fit into a particular category.

One lesson that really stuck in my mind was the power of confidence and showing up. We learned that if one wants to create content, they cannot let shyness hold them back. Content that is left in drafts will not make an impact; it is the content that is shared that will have the potential to make an impact, even go viral.

Another important thing we learned is that UGC and content creation are not get-rich-quick schemes. Like any other career, it takes patience and consistency. One has to put in the work before seeing the fruits of it. In other words, one has to create value before they can make money from it.

We also learned that one can start from what is around them. For example, one can use products they can find in stores and create content using those products and tag them. This helped me see content creation in a more practical sense.

In all, this training experience has helped me expand my knowledge of digital communication, storytelling for brands, and the process of content creation.
