When I was growing up, I remember my grandma hated to be idle. She was always out doing something. Even when she was at home, she couldn’t just sit down in one place and relax; she would come and join us and give us a hand with whatever we were doing, and at that time she was very old. She was 88 years old I remember giving some of her grandchildren money to start up a business. I can also remember when my mom couldn’t just stop nagging about her doing so much at our age, but she did not listen. She was always going to work and now I realize that the problem was not about the money.
Most people dream of making money and retiring at an early age and stop working that is the dream that they are selling to you online. Do this and retire early, It is so attractive and many people love this dream, but there are some people who after having so much money, can not stop themselves from working. just like my grandma she was not super rich, but she was rich enough to take care of herself, take care of our grandkids, have a house and a car, and a lot of money in her bank account but she still chose to go to work every day.
Was it passion or greed
We have people like Elon Musk who have so much money that an average person cannot even comprehend it and still choose to work hard every day to make more money. I know some people will actually call it greedy but why do you have to work more when you already have a lot of money but the truth is, there is a feeling to you working for money that you don’t actually need, it goes beyond greed, it is you trying to make an impact.
I know we might have some millionaires out there who actually work every day just to prove a point that they have a lot of money in their bank account, but we have those who work for the money that they don’t need just because what they are doing is their passion and it is who they are. They can simply choose to stop working and retire with the money that they have in their account but when your passion gives you money, the money will only be a bonus.
Is it retirement you want or do you just want to be free to do what you want with your time?
Most people don’t really know what they want. Some people will tell you that they want to retire, but when you have a conversation with them, you realize that it’s not actually retirement they want they just want to be free to do and live their life the way they want. Some people don’t really want to retire at all they just want to be free so that they can chase their passion. It doesn't matter whether you retired early or you are doing what you’re passionate about, you should be generating income for yourself and you may not actually need that money Your passion is generating for you, but that money opens a lot of possibilities for you.
