Stake House Den - Game Reward Pools Explained...

All the details to the game rewards pool is mentioned in the whitepaper, which you can refer here. In brief the game has been allocated 80 Million #COLONY tokens to be distributed over 5 years from Arcade Colony voted by Arcade Colony DAO [Decentralized Autonomous Organization].

• 8M COLONY per year into standard play for each game

• 2M COLONY per year into Jackpot pools for each game

Important point to note here is about Rshares (reward shares) that will be earned from the game.

Upon winning a match, Rshares will be allocated to the Rshares pool & COLONY rewards will be awarded for the respective game. Losing a match, however, will not result in any contribution to Rshares or COLONY rewards.

Rshares = (ColonyStakingMultiplier / 10 ) x (GameResultFactor / 10) x (HotSauce)^1.2

Game Rewards = (Rshares / (TotalRshares2Week + Rshares)) x (PoolBalance / 1000)

Lets now try to understand the rewards with the help of an example. Here is the precondition that I am considering.

Staked COLONY - 2 Million Tokens staked by the player
GameResultFactor - 8 Based on game type and win condition
HotSauce Multiplier - 2 game-specific modifier to encourage engagement
Total Rshares (2 weeks) - 5,000 Lets say the total Rshares earned by all players in the last 2 weeks
Reward Pool Balance - 500K #COLONY Total available COLONY tokens in the reward pool
Pool Reward Cap 1% Maximum reward a single game can generate (1% of total pool = 10,000 COLONY)

Game Rewards Calculation Breakdown

Now that we have a clear understanding of the preconditions such as the player's staked Colony tokens, the HotSauce multiplier, and other contributing factors. Here’s a breakdown of how rewards are distributed based on above preconditions being met.

1. Colony Staking Multiplier	1 + 2 ^ (log(stakedColony / 10^6))	1 + 2 ^ log(2) = 1 + 2^0.3010	≈ 2.23
2. Rshares Formula	(ColonyMultiplier / 10) × (GameResult / 10) × (HotSauce ^ 1.2)	(2.23 / 10) × (8 / 10) × (2^1.2)	≈ 0.409 Rshares
3. Game Reward Formula	(Rshares / (TotalRshares + Rshares)) × (PoolBalance / 1000)	(0.409 / 5000.409) × (500,000 / 1000)	≈ 0.0408 COLONY reward
4. Max Cap Limit	1% of pool = max 5,000 COLONY	Reward < 5,000	Decent limit

Ok now the main part i.e. what is the jest of all these calculations. Yes, I am getting to it and this can be summarized as follows.

The Final Reward: ~0.0408 COLONY Tokens approximately will earned for winning a match/bet. This is my take and my understanding after reading through the games rewards pool. Which game has this '8' gameresult factor and how can we see it?

I don't get this either. You took hotsauce as 2? In my understanding, this is the variable which impacts the rewards (colony) the most.

In one of my calculations where I took some different numbers than you.

(It has 2 as GameResultFactor, so the exact value is different, but I want to show the graph. How HotSauce is used is directly related to Rewards.

Now look at this graph, it shows the relationship between staked Colony tokens vs rewards. How interesting that the rewards are not linear. It increases every so slowly with the amount of staked COLONY. This makes me wonder if staking Colony even has that much of a benefit?

I had taken some random value for the "GameResultFactor". Based on my analysis what I found out if the HotSauce value is increased the rewards increases exponentially. In my example if I increase HotSauce to be 1K then the gamerewards would be 62.15 COLONY tokens which is way too more when compared to 2 HotSauce. cheers
