When I started splinterlands, it was just like a play. No one told me about the game, I saw the splinterlands weekly battle challenge posted by my friend in his blog. I read through the post, I became engrossed with the content of the post. But I had one problem then, which was 'money'.
I never gave up on checking this guy's blog and I consistently Reading splinterlands articles posted by him for three weeks. On that Faithful day, I saw the same splinterlands article with the Link of splinterlands. , I clicked on the link; After clicking on the link, it took me to splinterlands website. I used the money in my hive wallet to get the spell book; I bought the spell book $10.
After I bought the spellbook, I discovered that I needed to get more cards to play the game. I was reluctant to buy cards because of what I have seen online, how I was duped. Each time I want to buy cards, I remembered my investment online that was taken away.
One day, I was chatting with @burlarj online, he told me the game is real. He told me to get those cards I wanted. He also gave me some cards for free.
The first day I played the game, I didn't know how to play it. Hence, I was tired of playing the game due to lack of knowledge on how to arrange cards.
After some days, I messaged him that I did not know how to play splinterlands. He said, "go to splinterlands blog, you will see how to arrange the game, you can also post articles about the game- two articles in a week".
I started reading those articles in splinterlands blog, then entered SL website and arranged my cards. The first day I won, I was very happy and eager to play. That was the beginning of my breakthrough.
I continued playing the game, completing my daily quest and buying cards. I never knew how to buy packs then. Whenever a player used certain cards to defeat me, the next thing for me was to enter the market, search for the cards and purchase them. That was how I got some of my monsters.
I learned how to buy packs when my friend sent me videos on how he bought his own packs. After watching the videos, I bought a pack which was 2,000 DEC.
I don't keep my packs because I don't have enough cards. Whenever I bought packs or got packs by completing daily quest, I opened it immediately. That was how I got the little cards I used to play splinterlands today.
When I understood the game, I started buying cards with little money I had. Am even blaming myself of not putting my best then. I would have gotten more cards; I wouldn't have been in silver 3 today, I would have been in gold or diamond league.
But my joy is, I was consistent and determined that in every season I must reach certain objectives I set for myself. While I was doing this, I was getting more cards and packs.
I only sold 3 or four cards since I started splinterlands because my DEC was not enough to get the cards I wanted. I sold those cards because there was no money in my bank or wallet to get them.
The reason for this article is to encourage players that may think of giving up just because of the circumstances around them. I want to advise you to be consistent, most of the big players in splinterlands today started like some of you. And now, they are getting the profit. Some of them are getting profit through renting cards and playing splinterlands.
If you are new players, it is time to invest, work hard, be consistent, be determined, set goals for yourself and work smart. I am still a small player in splinterlands but I know how much am learning everyday. I am still striving to get more cards, I want to play in Champions and this can only be achieved by determination and consistency. To play in champions, I need monsters and summoners; I need money to buy them.
Rome was not built in a day. Have a plan of building your wealth.
Consistency and determination is very essential in success. Yoú don't need to have all the money to get all the monsters and summoners, you only needed determination and consistency. You may encounter defeats in battles or when trying to achieve certain goal, it is just normal thing. Several times, I was defeated but I never give up. Even though, I didn't reach the goal I set for myself in a day, I will never give up. I understood that consistent and determination is one's ability to recover from failure and setback.
In conclusion, success is a product of consistence and determination. You need these qualities to become successful, not only in splinterlands but also in anything you are doing.

BATTLE RULES
Reverse Speed: Monsters with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks
Holy Protection: All monsters have the divine shield ability
BATTLE ARRANGEMENTS
Furious Chicken: is going to take two times before it would be destroyed due to holy protection. I never knew that my opponent would use chain golem but when I saw it, I was very happy because Furious Chicken would be attacked first by chain golem.
Kelp Initiate: Both furious chicken and kelp Initiate were to delay while others were to attack. I choose kelp initiate to delay from reaching other monsters that attack. This kind of monster is good for battle with lower Mana in the sense that it will give more space to other monsters.
Captain Ghost: The first reason I placed it here was to avoid it from getting destroyed quickly. I was trying to hide it from sneaky monsters so that it would do the job perfectly. The reason I selected it was because of the magic attack. Since the Mana is small, I needed Monsters that would attack health and destroy opponent's monsters with no time. Captain ghost was the perfect match to carry out that assignment because of magic attack that will attacks the health directly.
Crustacean King: increasing the health of kelp initiate was the main reason for selecting it so that captain ghost would continue attacking.
Ice Pixie: Ice Pixie was the second to the last monster. I selected it to add more damages done by captain ghost.
Halfling Alchemist: the major reason was to break the weapon of opponent monsters.
