My Frontier Progress and My First Max-Level Legendary Foundation Card!
There are many game modes to choose from on Splinterlands.
I prefer to play in modes reserved exclusively for human players.
The game modes I play most are Modern Format and Frontier Format.
On Splinterlands, time is marked by seasons that last about 15 days, and at the beginning of each season, I like to set seasonal goals that I would like to achieve by the end of the season.
At the start of the current season, about two days ago, I set my seasonal goals, which I also shared in this post:
- reach the Diamond III league in Modern Format
- reach the Gold II league in Frontier Format
- play at least one tournament
The current season has just begun, and I have not yet achieved my seasonal goal in the Modern Format because after 52 battles played, of which 26 were won, I am in the Gold III league with a rating score of 2100.
I haven't reached my tournament goal yet, but I'll choose a tournament to play in over the next few days.
On the other hand, I have made significant progress in the Frontier Format and, unexpectedly, I have already achieved my seasonal goal because I am playing in the Gold II league!
I achieved this result thanks to 93 battles played, 45 of which I won, and a maximum streak of 10.
Even though I have achieved my seasonal goal, I have no intention of stopping and will try to reach the highest league: Gold I.
In fact, unlike the Modern Format where the maximum league is Champion I, in the Frontier Format the maximum league is Gold I because Foundation cards have a lower maximum level cap than cards from other sets.
The highest levels achievable by Foundation cards are:
- Common cards: level 5 (result of combining 60 regular cards)
- Rare cards: level 4 (result of combining 25 regular cards)
- Epic cards: level 3 (result of combining 10 regular cards)
- Legendary cards: level 2 (result of combining 3 regular cards)
Today, I am delighted to share my first upgrade to the maximum level of a legendary card of the Foundation set!
In fact, today I opened 3 Foundation Packs in which I found 2 copies of the neutral legendary card A'lan Musketeer

I was very lucky because finding two legendary cards in three packs is extremely rare!
I already had a copy of A'lan Musketeer and was able to upgrade it to level 2, which is the highest level this card can reach.
At level 1, A'lan Musketeer is useful in some battles, but at level 2, he becomes a much more useful and powerful card because, thanks to his Double Strike ability, he can inflict two attacks per round with a total attack potential of 4 points per round.
Among the legendary cards in the Foundation set, this card has the highest number of attack points per round at maximum level.
Its weaknesses are its very low speed, low health points and relatively high mana cost, but these weaknesses are more than compensated for by its attack points.
A'lan Musketeer is a card that can be found in daily rewards or Foundation packs, or it can be purchased on the market.
Today, October 2, 2025, a copy of A'lan Musketeer costs $0.762, while purchasing a copy of the highest level costs a total of $2,291 by purchasing the three lowest-priced copies ($0.762 + $0.764 + $0.765).
In my posts, when I write about a Splinterlands card, I also like to show its practical use in the game.
I haven't used the level 2 A'lan Musketeer in Frontier Format battles yet because I had already claimed my 3 daily rewards today and didn't want to waste energy points that I might need in the coming days, but I'm sure this card will be very helpful in advancing quickly in the Gold I league.
In the case of A'lan Musketeer, to show its usefulness in battle, I deliberately used it in my battles in the Gold II league in the Modern Format, where the difficulty level is higher than in the Frontier Format because in the Modern Format, cards of a much higher level than the foundation cards can be used.
In Modern Format, the battles in which A'lan Musketeer can be used with most utility are those with the Going To Distance rule (only cards with ranged attacks can be used), but A'lan Musketeer can also be useful in battles with different rules and, above all, does not look out of place.
For example, today I used A'lan Musketeer in a Modern Format battle in fifth position between Olivia of the Brook and Commander Goff.
A'lan Musketeer was very useful in battle because he took a total of 12 life points from the opponent's cards and contributed to the victory in battle.
It was his two attacks that eliminated the opponent's last card.

I miei progressi nel formato Frontier e la mia prima carta legendaria di massimo livello!
Su Splinterlands ci sono molte madalità di gioco tra cui scegliere.
Preferisco giocare nelle modalità riservate esclusivamente ai giocatori umani.
Le modalità di gioco in cui gioco di più sono il Modern Format e il Frontier Format.
Su Splinterlands il tempo è scandito dalle stagioni che hanno una durata di circa 15 giorni e ad ogni inizio di stagione mi piace fissare degli obiettivi stagionali che mi piacerebbe raggiungere entro la fine della stagione.
All'inizio della stagione in corso, circa due giorni fa, ho fissato i miei obiettivi stagionali che ho condiviso anche in questo post:
- arrivare nella lega Diamond nel Modern Format
- arrivare nella lega Gold II nel Frontier Format
- giocare almeno un torneo
La stagione in corso è iniziata da poco e non ho ancora raggiunto il mio obiettivo stagionale nel Modern Format perchè dopo 52 battaglie giocate di cui 26 battaglie vinte sono nella lega Gold III con un punteggio di rating = 2100.
Non ho ancora raggiunto il mio obiettivo relativo ai tornei ma sceglierò un torneo a cui giocare nei prossimi giorni.
Ho invece fatto dei notevoli progressi nel Frontier Format e inaspettatamente ho già raggiunto il mio obiettivo stagionale perchè sto giocando nella lega Gold II!
Ho raggiunto questo risultato grazie a 93 battaglie giocate di cui 45 vinte e un max streak = 10.
Anche se ho raggiunto il mio obiettivo stagionale non ho assolutamente intenzione di fermarmi e proverò a raggiungere la lega più alta: la lega Gold I.
Infatti a differenza del Modern Format dove la lega massima è la lega Champion I nel Frontier Format la lega massima è la lega Gold I perchè le Foundation cards hanno un cap sul livello massimo raggiungibile inferiore alle carte degli altri set.
I massimi livelli raggiungibili dalle Foundation cards sono:
- Carte comuni: livello 5 (risultato della combinazione di 60 carte regular)
- Carte rare: livello 4 (risultato della combinazione di 25 carte regular)
- Carte epiche: livello 3 (risultato della combinazione di 10 carte regular)
- Carte leggendarie: livello 2 (risultato della combinazione di 3 carte regular)
Oggi sono contento di poter condividere il mio primo upgrade al massimo livello di una carta leggendaria del set Foundation!

Sono stato molto fortunato perchè trovare due carte leggendarie in tre pacchi non è assolutamente frequente!
Avevo già una copia di A'lan Musketeer e ho potuto fare l'upgrade al livello 2 che è il massimo livello raggiungibile da questa carta.
Al livello 1 A'lan Musketeer è utile in alcune battaglie ma al livello 2 diventa una carta molto più utile e molto più forte perchè grazie all'abilità Double Strike è in grado di infliggere due attacchi per ogni round con un potenziale totale di attacco di 4 punti per round.
Tra le carte leggendarie del set Foundation è la carta che al massimo livello ha il maggior numero di punti di attacco per round.
A'lan Musketeer è una carta che può essere trovata nelle ricompense giornaliere o nei Foundation packs oppure può essere acquistata nel market.
Oggi 2 ottobre 2025 una copia di A'lan Musketeer costa 0.762$ mentre acquistare una copia di massimo livello ha un costo totale di 2.291$ acquistando le tre copie con prezzo più basso (0.762$ + 0.764$ +0.765$)
Nei miei post quando scrivo su una carta di Splinterlands mi piace mostrare anche il suo utilizzo pratico nel gioco.
Non ho ancora utilizzato A'lan Musketeer di livello 2 nelle battaglie nel Frontier Format perchè oggi avevo già fatto il claim delle 3 ricompense giornaliere e non volevo sprecare punti energia che mi potrebbero servire nei successivi giorni ma sono sicuro che questa carta mi sarà molto di aiuto per avanzare velocemente nella lega Gold I.
Nel caso di A'lan Musketeer per mostrare la sua utilità in battaglia l'ho volutamente utilizzata nelle mie battaglie nella lega Gold II nel Modern Format dove il livello di difficoltà è maggiore rispetto al Frontier Format perchè nel Modern Format possono essere usate carte di livello molto superiore al livello delle foundation cards utilizzabili nel Frontier Format.
Nel Modern Format le battaglie in cui è possibile utilizzare A'lan Musketeer con maggiore utilità sono le battaglie che hanno la regola Going To Distance (solo le carte con attacco da distanza possono essere utilizzate) ma anche in battaglie con regole diverse A'lan Musketeer può essere utile e soprattutto non sfigura.
Ad esempio oggi ho utilizzato A'lan Musketeer in una battaglia nel Modern Format in quinta posizione tra Olivia of the Brook e Commander Goff.
A'lan Musketeer è stato molto utile in battaglia perchè ha sottratto in totale 12 punti vita alle carte avversarie e ha contribuito alla vittoria in battaglia.
Sono stati proprio i suoi due attacchi a eliminare l'ultima carta avversaria.

Congratulations on maxing a card and on Gold II. I think Gold league rewards for the quest is looking good. I was able to collect a few, but I keep getting kicked out of Gold so it's rare for me to collect those packs.
Once you will find enough cards to upgrade your summoners, you will see that you will be playing steadily in gold ;)
That musketeer is a killer!!, he will definitely bring you victories.

Absolutely, although in order to use it at its full potential, I still need to find a few more copies of the summoners to upgrade to level 3.
Congrats on maxing out a legendary Foundations card, that's pretty cool! I haven't worked on any of mine yet to be honest, nor have I played in the mode yet. I would have to buy up some cards to even be competitive!

I like playing Frontier and I'm playing regularly every day to receive daily rewards and make upgrades.
Two weeks ago, I bought two copies of Marlai Singariel to have a second-level summoner to use in Frontier, and since then my results have improved significantly and I've entered the gold leagues ;)

Congratulations on those achievements! In my case, my first maxed legendary was also a neutral card: Great Bear Druid, and I recently got a golden Giam Root from the Foundations packs. These are the things that make me prefer to play Frontiers more than any other format. Best regards.
