Splinterlands: My Return To Diamond III and My Card Upgrades
I signed up on Hive in March 2019, and six months later (September 2019), I started playing Splinterlands.
Over the past six years, Splinterlands has always been a fun part of my day, and I continue to enjoy playing and upgrading my cards as I try to achieve the goals I set for myself each season.
For several seasons now, I have been setting myself the goal of returning to play in the Diamond leagues in the Modern Format without success.
In particular, the previous season I played in the Modern Format was disappointing in terms of my game results because I finished the season in the Gold II league with a rating of 2320 points and ranked 68th in the Gold Leaderboard.
The current season is going much better for me because I have improved my win rate and because in recent days I have often come close to the Diamond III league.
Today I had two chances to achieve my season goal in the Modern Format.
Thanks to a series of six consecutive wins, I have come within just 20 rating points of the Diamond III league.
But I missed my first chance to advance in the Diamond III league because I lost the decisive battle and dropped from a rating of 2780 points to 2760 points.
I didn't lose heart and came back to within just 20 rating points of Diamond III by winning the next battle.
In the battle to enter the Diamond III league, I received the rulesets: Noxious Fumes, Rise of the Common, and Fog War.
I placed Anyu Huntswoman in the first position to give Commander Slade the chance to attack from the second position.
Thanks to Anyu Huntswoman's Flank ability, I was able to benefit from Commander Slade's excellent attack and at the same time protect this card's health points.
When the battle rule is Noxious Fumes, all cards that do not have the Immunity ability lose two life points at the start of each round starting from round 2.
For this reason, I chose to use Anasth Soothsayer for the Tank Heal ability, but above all for the Cleanse ability, which can cancel the effect of the Noxious Fumes rule on my card in first position.
I also chose to put Sea Dog Of Eight in last position because I wanted to have a card that could recover two life points per round and move into first position in case all my cards were eliminated.
I also made a strategic error in third position because when the ruleset is Fog of War, Dragon Egg Rorager cannot attack from third position.
My strategy worked well and I won the battle in the first turn of Round 4!
Thanks to this victory in battle after several seasons, I have finally returned to the Diamond III league in the Modern Format!
This is a very important achievement for me because when I used my Chaos Legion cards in the Modern Format, I consistently played in the Diamond leagues every season and sometimes even made it into the Champion III league.
Returning to play even just in the Diamond III league also means that my card upgrading and rental activity is paying off, and I am very happy about that.
Of course, this is not the time to stop, because for me, achieving a goal is almost always a new starting point for another, more challenging goal.
My next goal is to advance to the Diamond II league!
To achieve this new goal, I need to continue to increase the strength of my card collection by upgrading the cards I use most in battle and by purchasing and renting cards that I consider useful in battle.
On October 21, the new Conclave Arcana Reward Cards were released, replacing the previous Rebellion Reward Cards.
I started looking closely at the stats of the new cards to decide which Rarity Draws to focus on initially.
Obviously, I prefer Epic and Legendary cards to Common and Rare cards, but I'll start with these cards because:
- they have a much lower glint cost (I'm more likely to get them to the maximum level)
- they will give me a base of cards to use when the future rotation happens and I won't be able to use my rebellion cards in the Modern Format.
My strategy will also be to sell the Gold cards I find in Draws and Loot Chests to speed up the upgrade of regular foil cards.
As for the old reward cards, I am very happy to have managed to complete the upgrade to the maximum level of Arachne Weaver at the last minute (on October 20), which is a card I really like!
As for the cards in the Conclave Arcana set, today I increased my purchase offer for a copy of Gramel the Hunger from $8 to $9.
Even though my purchase offer was the highest on the market, I decided to increase it because Gramel the Hunger is a card I would really like to have in my card collection.
Today I bought 24 copies of Anyu Huntswoman

Thanks to the cards I purchased, I upgraded Anyu Huntswoman: level 4 -> level 6
+1 Attack, +1 Health, +1 Armor for a card I use often in battle is a good upgrade in my opinion!
Anyu Huntswoman is a card I like because it's very versatile:
- it's a neutral card = I can use it with all archons
- it has the Flank ability, which expands the range of melee attack cards I can use in second position.

Il mio ritorno in Diamond III nel Modern Format e il potenziamento delle mie carte
Mi sono iscritto su Hive nel marzo 2019 e sei mesi dopo (settembre 2019) ho iniziato a giocare su Splinterlands.
In questi sei anni Splinterlands è stata sempre una parentesi di divertimento nelle mie giornate e continuo a divertirmi a giocare e a potenziare le mie carte cercando di centrare gli obiettivi che stagione dopo stagione mi piace fissare.
Sono diverse stagioni che mi pongo l'obiettivo di tornare a giocare nelle leghe Diamond nel Modern Format senza mai riuscirci.
In particolare la precedente stagione che ho giocato nel Modern Format è stata deludente dal punto di vista dei miei risultati di gioco perchè ho terminato la stagione in lega Gold II con un rating di 2320 punti e mi sono posizionato al 68° posto nella Gold Leaderboard.
La stagione in corso sta andando molto meglio per me perchè ho migliorato il mio win rate e perchè nei giorni precedenti mi sono avvicinato spesso alla lega Diamond III.
Oggi ho avuto due occasioni per raggiungere il mio obiettivo stagionale nel Modern Format.
Grazie ad una serie di sei vittorie consecutive sono arrivato a soli 20 punti di rating dalla lega Diamond III.
Ma ho fallito la mia prima occasione per avanzare nella lega Diamond III perchè ho perso la battaglia decisiva e da 2780 punti di rating sono sceso a 2760 punti di rating.
Non mi sono perso d'animo e sono tornato nuovamente a soli 20 punti di rating dalla lega Diamond III vincendo la battaglia successiva.
Nella battaglia di accesso alla lega Diamond III ho ricevuto le rulesets: Noxious Fumes, Rise of the Common e Fog War.
Ho posizionato Anyu Huntswoman in prima posizione per dare la possibilità a Commander Slade di attaccare dalla seconda posizione.
Grazie all'abilità Flank di Anyu Huntswoman ho potuto beneficiare dell'ottimo attacco di Commander Slade e allo stesso tempo ho potuto proteggere i punti vita di questa carta.
Quando la regola di battaglia è Noxious Fumes tutte le carte che non hanno l'abilità Immunity perdono due punti vita all'inizio di ogni round a partire dal round 2.
Per questo motivo ho scelto di utilizzare Anasth Soothsayer per l'abilità Tank Heal ma soprattutto per l'abilità Cleanse in grado di annullare l'effetto della regola Noxious Fumes sulla mia carta in prima posizione.
Ho anche scelto di mettere Sea Dog Of Eight in ultima posizione perchè volevo avere una carta in grado di recuperare due punti vita a Round e arrivare in prima posizione nel caso in cui le mie carte fossero state tutte eliminate.
Ho fatto anche un errore strategico in terza posizione perchè quando la ruleset è Fog of War Dragon Egg Rorager non può attaccare dalla terza posizione.
La mia strategia ha funzionato bene e ho vinto la battaglia al primo turno del Round 4!
Grazie a questa vittoria in battaglia dopo diverse stagioni sono finalmente ritornato nella lega Diamond III nel Modern Format!
Questo è un risultato molto importante per me perchè quando utilizzavo le mie carte Chaos Legion nel Modern Format giocavo stabilmente in ogni stagione nelle leghe Diamond nel Modern Format e qualche volta riuscivo anche ad affacciarmi nella lega Champion III.
Ritornare a giocare anche solo nella lega Diamond III vuol dire anche che la mia attività di upgrade e noleggio delle carte sta dando i suoi frutti e sono molto contento di questo.
Non è ovviamente il momento di fermarsi perchè un obiettivo raggiunto è quasi sempre per me una nuova partenza per un altro obiettivo più impegnativo.
Il mio prossimo obiettivo è di avanzare nella lega Diamond II!
Per raggiungere questo mio nuovo obiettivo devo continuare ad aumentare la forza della mia collezione di carte tramite l'upgrade delle carte che uso di più in battaglia e tramite l'acquisto e il noleggio di carte che considero utili in battaglia.
Il 21 ottobre sono state rilasciate le nuove Conclave Arcana Reward Cards, che hanno sostituito le precedenti Rebellion Reward Cards.
Ho iniziato a guardare con attenzione le statistiche delle nuove carte per scegliere su quali Rarity Draws focalizzarmi inizialmente.
Ovviamente mi piacciono di più le Epic e le Legendary cards rispetto alle Common e Rare cards ma inizierò da queste carte perchè:
- hanno un costo in glint molto più basso (ho più probabilità di portarle al massimo livello)
- mi daranno una base di carte da utilizzare quando ci sarà la futura rotazione e non potrò utilizzare le mie rebellion cards nel Modern Format.
La mia strategia sarà anche quella di vendere le carte Gold che troverò nei Draws e nei Loot Chest per accelerare l'upgrade delle carte regular foil.
Per quanto riguarda le vecchie reward cards sono molto contento di essere riuscito a completare in extremis (il 20 ottobre) l'upgrade al massimo livello di Arachne Weawer che è una carta che mi piace molto!
Per quanto riguarda le carte del set Conclave Arcana oggi ho aumentato la mia offerta di acquisto per una copia di Gramel the Hunger da 8$ a 9$.
Anche se la mia offerta di acquisto era la più alta sul mercato ho deciso di aumentarla perchè Gramel the Hunger è una carta che mi piacerebbe molto avere nella mia collezione di carte.

- ha l'abilità Flank che amplia il ventaglio di carte con attacco da mischia che posso utilizzare in seconda posizione.

Great job returning to the Diamond League! With my Chaos cards I would play there all the time as well, but with the new cards it's a whole new story. Very well done on the six wins in a row after the loss that set you back. Maybe now you can start sneaking your way up to Champion again. I haven't played there in ages!
