The Optimization of My Modern Format Card Collection: Sales, Purchases, and Upgrades!
I signed up on Hive in March 2019, and six months later (September 2019), I started playing Splinterlands.
With Splinterlands, my passion for web3 games began, and in particular, my passion for Hive-based games, for which I have a natural preference because Hive is my favorite blockchain platform.
On Splinterlands, I like to play Ranked Play, but only in formats reserved exclusively for human players.
My favorite formats are Modern Format and Frontier Format.

I am a very active player in these two formats because I play regularly almost every day.
On Splinterlands, I like to play in my favorite game modes, but I also like to increase the strength of my card collection through an optimization activity that involves:
- selling cards that I don't use in battles or that I rarely use
- buying cards that I consider useful in battle and that are within my budget
In this post, I share my recent card sales, purchases, and upgrades.
11 days ago, I put Chuul Jujinchi level 4 (39 CC) up for sale because I hardly ever used him in my Modern Format battles.
Yesterday, I sold Chuul Jujinchi level 4 for $10.14 = 16394.22 DEC.
Thanks to this sale, I now have a quantity of DEC that I can invest in purchasing/upgrading cards that could improve my results in the Modern Format and help me achieve my goal of returning to play regularly in the Diamond leagues of this format.
Regarding the cards of the Arcana Conclave set, today I purchased:
- 24 copies of Portly Cannoneer
- 18 copies of Anyu Huntswoman
I used https://monstermarket.io/ to purchase these cards.
I spent a total of 6203.40 DEC and received a cashback of 148.88 DEC.
Thanks to the cards I purchased, I made two upgrades.
I upgraded Portly Cannoneer: level 4 -> level 5
I did this upgrade because Portly Cannoneer at level 5 acquires the Return Fire ability, which will be very useful in battles with the Going the Distance ruleset because all opponent cards will have a ranged attack and every attack suffered by my Portly Cannoneer will produce a 50% attack on the opponent card that launched the attack.
In the transition from level 4 to level 5, Portly Cannoneer loses one health point, but the addition of the Return Fire ability compensates for this decrease in health points in my opinion.
I upgraded Anyu Huntswoman: level 3 -> level 4
I did this upgrade because Anyu Huntswoman at level 4 increases her attack points by 1 unit (2->3).
Anyu Huntswoman is a card I like because it is versatile:
- it is a neutral card = I can use it with all archons
- it has the Flank ability, which expands the range of melee attack cards I can use in second position.
For example, in battles where only neutral cards can be used, I like to use Anyu Huntswoman in the first position and Mantaroth in the second position.
This way, I can protect Mantaroth's armor points, which are also attack points thanks to the Armored Strike ability, as long as Anyu Huntswoman remains alive.
Level 4 is just an intermediate goal for me because I plan to upgrade to level 6, at which point Anyu Huntswoman reaches 4 attack points and becomes even more useful in battle.
Today, I also made an offer to purchase one copy of Gramel the Hunger, a card I would like to have in my collection.
I used the Make Bid feature on Peakmonsters, and my offer is the highest on the market.
On October 21, the new Reward Cards will be released.
With the release of the new Conclave Arcana Reward Cards, Rebellion Reward Cards will no longer be available in Draws and Loot Chests.
I have completed the upgrade of common and rare Rebellion Reward Cards, but I have not completed the upgrade of epic and legendary cards.
Out of 7 epic cards, I only have 2 cards at the maximum level: Thanalorian Blade and Halfling Refugee.
To try to complete the upgrade of at least one more epic card today, I looked through my Soulbound Reward Chaos Legion cards to see if there were any cards I could burn in exchange for Glint.
I chose to convert my level 2 Kulu Mastermind Gold Foil into Glint because I have a level 1 copy that has more or less the same usefulness in battle as the level 2 because the Shield ability is particularly useful for cards to be placed in the first or last position, while Kulu Mastermind is more of a card to be used in the middle positions.
But above all, I burned my level 2 Kulu Mastermind Gold Foil because I don't play in Wild Format, and a max-level epic card that I can use in Modern Format is much more useful to me than a legendary card that I can't use in Modern Format.
I received 62,500 GLINT.
With 60,000 GLINT, I purchased 8 Epic Draws.
Thanks to the cards I found in the draws, I was able to complete the upgrade of Kha'zi Conjurer: level 5 -> level 6
It will be difficult for me to complete the upgrade of the other epic cards, but until the new reward cards are released, I will purchase more epic draws.
It would be great if I could upgrade at least Arachne Weaver to the maximum level, because I only need 3 more copies.
What upgrade would you recommend for Modern in Diamond?

- vendere le carte che non uso nelle battaglie o che uso raramente
- acquistare le carte che considero utili in battaglia e che hanno prezzi compatibili con il mio budget
In questo post condivido le mie recenti operazioni di vendita, acquisto e upgrade delle carte.
11 giorni fa avevo messo in vendita Chuul Jujinchi di livello 4 (39 CC) perchè non lo utilizzavo quasi mai nelle mie battaglie nel Modern Format.
Ieri ho venduto Chuul Jujinchi di livello 4 a 10.14$ = 16394.22 DEC.
Grazie a questa vendita ho un quantitativo di DEC che posso investire nell'acquisto/upgrade di carte che potrebbero migliorare i miei risultati nel Modern Format e aiutarmi a raggiungere il mio obiettivo di tornare a giocare stabilmente nelle leghe Diamond di questo formato.

Ho fatto questo upgrade perchè Portly Cannoneer al livello 5 acquisisce l'abilità Return Fire che mi sarà molto utile nelle battaglie con la ruleset Going the distance perchè tutte le carte avversarie avranno un attacco dalla distanza e ogni attacco subito dal mio Portly Cannoneer produrrà un attacco al 50% verso la carta avversaria che ha sferrato l'attacco.
Nel passaggio dal livello 4 al livello 5 Portly Cannoneer perde un punto vita ma l'aggiunta dell'abilità Return Fire compensa questa diminuzione di punti vita secondo me.
Ho fatto l'upgrade di Anyu Huntswoman: level 3 -> level 4
Ho fatto questo upgrade perchè Anyu Huntswoman al livello 4 aumenta i suoi punti di attacco di 1 unità (2->3).
Anyu Huntswoman è una carta che mi piace perchè è molto versatile:
- è una carta neutrale = la posso utilizzare con tutti gli archons
- ha l'abilità Flank che amplia il ventaglio di carte con attacco da mischia che posso utilizzare in seconda posizione.
Ad esempio nelle battaglie in cui possono essere utilizzate solo le carte neutrali mi piace utilizzare Anyu Huntswoman in prima posizione e Mantaroth in seconda posizione.
In questo modo Mantaroth posso proteggere i punti armatura di Mantaroth che sono anche punti di attacco grazie all'abilità Armored Strike fino a quando Anyu Huntswoman rimane in vita.
Il livello 4 è solo un mio obiettivo intermedio perchè ho in programma di fare l'upgrade al livello 6, livello al quale Anyu Huntswoman raggiunge i 4 punti di attacco e diventa ancora più utile in battaglia.
Oggi ho fatto anche un'offerta di acquisto per 1 copia di Gramel the Hunger che è una carta che mi piacerebbe avere nella mia collezione.
Ho utilizzato la funzionalità Make Bid di Peakmonsters e la mia offerta di acquisto è la più alta sul mercato.
Il 21 ottobre ci sarà il rilascio delle nuove Reward Cards.
Con il rilascio delle nuove Conclave Arcana Reward Cards non sarà più possibile trovare le Rebellion Reward Cards nei Draws e nei Loot Chests.
Ho completato l'upgrade delle Rebellion Reward Cards di tipo comune e di tipo raro ma non ho completato l'upgrade delle carte epiche e delle carte leggendarie.
Su 7 carte epiche ho solo 2 carte al massimo livello: Thanalorian Blade e Halfling Refugee.
Per provare a completare l'upgrade di almeno un'altra carta epica oggi ho guardato tra le mie carte Reward Chaos Legion di tipo Soulbound se c'erano carte che potevo bruciare in cambio di Glint.
Ho scelto di convertire in Glint il mio Kulu Mastermind Gold Foil di livello 2 perchè ho una copia di livello 1 che ha più o meno la stessa utilità in battaglia del livello 2 perchè l'abilità Shield è particolarmente utile per le carte da mettere in prima posizione o in ultima posizione mentre Kulu Mastermind è più una carta da utilizzare nelle posizioni centrali.
Ma soprattutto ho bruciato Kulu Mastermind Gold Foil di livello 2 perchè non gioco nel Wild Format e una carta epica di livello massimo che posso usare nel Modern Format per me è molto più utile di una carta leggendaria che non posso usare nel Modern Format.
Ho ricevuto 62500 GLINT.
Con 60000 GLINT ho acquistato 8 Epic Draw.
Grazie alle carte che ho trovato all'interno dei Epic draws ho potuto completare l'upgrade di Kha'zi Conjurer: level 5 -> level 6
Difficilmente riuscirò a completare l'upgrade delle altre carte epiche ma fino al rilascio delle nuove reward cards acquisterò altri epic draws.
Sarebbe bello se riuscissi a fare l'upgrade al livello massimo almeno di Arachne Weaver perchè mi mancano solo 3 copie.
Che upgrade consiglieresti per il Modern in Diamond?

Campaign mode is free and teaches you how to play, and it also gives you cards.
