Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to my blog! It's been an exciting year for our favorite game on Hive. There were a lot of updates this year for our game that made it more exciting and fun to play.
Frontier Mode
The Frontier Mode is the free to play experience of Splinterlands. It features it's own set of cards that can be earned in the Frontier. It also has its own energy system. Free to play players can start learning about the game in there and can even join guilds without buying spellbooks. With the Frontier mode, free to play users and veterans alike can enjoy a more balanced game where the focus is on strategy rather than depth of card ownership.
Conclave Arcana Set
In the middle of 2025, the new Conclave Arcana set was released. With this release, it replaced the Chaos Legion set in the Modern Mode and introduced new mechanic called Bloodline. With this mechanic, archons can now summon units of the same bloodline and even have specific buffs to the race. It offers fresh strategy and combos to Splinterlands.
New Reward Cards
Forty three new Conclave Arcana reward cards were released thereafter. They can be obtained from reward chests in the rewards shop or as league advancement rewards. It also featured new DEC sink with the unbinding scrolls.
New Land Cards
Recently, land cards were announced. They are craftable using the resources from lands. This also introduced a new soul bound resource called Cinder necessary to craft the land cards. They can be obtained by burning non soul bound cards thereby introducing a deflationary mechanic to cards as well as DEC.
Best Card Game Nomination
To cap the year, another feather in the cap for Splinterlands was its nomination for the Best Card Game category at the Blockchain Game Awards 2025! This is huge not just for Splinterlands but for Hive as well. With the nomination and potential win, more eyes will be directed towards Splinterlands and the Hive blockchain. I myself got into Hive because of the game.
