Todos los días; religiosa y puntualmente, a la misma hora de la mañana y de la tarde, vemos salir de su edificio a nuestra vecina Magaly. Trae puesto su tapabocas respectivo, un bolsito cruzado donde lleva su celular y las llaves y en sus manos dos envases de plástico, uno con comida casera elaborada por ella y otro lleno de agua potable... esbelta; con pasos firmes y seguros se dirige hasta el estacionamiento de su edificio a llevarle desayuno y almuerzo-cena a unos gatos que la esperan impacientes por ser la mano generosa que los alimenta, los cuida, los ama. Hoy, como de costumbre, yo saqué a mi mascota a pasear por el conjunto y me encontré con mi vecina a quien le pregunté por los otros gatos que ella alimentaba... solo observé tres. Ella me contestó que quedan cuatro, solo que el negro, como ella le llama, estaba en un apartamento de una vecina en ese momento. El resto los tienen bien cuidados en un refugio cercano donde ya suman 80 felinos rescatados, de los cuales muchos los ha llevado ella.
Hoy, Doña Magaly traía puesta su franela azul donde se podía leer con claridad la siguiente frase bíblica, cito: Jesús le dijo: Yo soy el camino, y la verdad, y la vida; nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí. Fin de la cita. Jn 14:6-9

Sin lugar a dudas, Doña Magaly es una mujer con profundas raíces cristianas, no solamente se le ve en la franela que llevaba puesta, sino en el amor y respeto que muestra a esos seres indefensos que habitan entre nosotros y que muchas veces pasan desapercibidos a nuestro lado sin que nos preguntemos siquiera si tienen hambre o sed. Gracias a Dios existen seres maravillosos como mi vecina Magaly que se entrega con mística, dedicación y caridad a los gatos del estacionamiento. ¡Dios bendiga a mi vecina, le de mucha salud y larga vida! Amén.

Every day; religiously and punctually, at the same time in the morning and afternoon, we see our neighbor Magaly leave her building. He wears his respective bottle cap, a crossover bag where he carries his cell phone and keys and in his hands two plastic containers, one with homemade food made by it and another full of drinking water... slender; With firm and safe steps she heads to the parking lot of her building to bring breakfast and lunch-dinner to cats who wait impatiently for being the generous hand that feeds, cares for them, loves them. Today, as usual, I took my pet for a walk in the ensemble and met my neighbor whom I asked about the other cats she fed... I only observed three. She replied that there are four left, only the, as she calls him, was in a neighbor's apartment at the time. The rest are well cared for in a nearby shelter where they already add up to 80 rescued felines, many of whom have been taken by her.
Today, Mrs. Magaly was wearing her blue flannel where the following biblical phrase could be clearly read, quote: Jesús said unto her, I am the way, and the truth, and life; no one comes to the Father, but mí. End of appointment. Jn 14:6-9

Undoubtedly, Mrs. Magaly is a woman with deep Christian roots, not only seen in the flannel she was wearing but in the love and respect she shows those helpless beings who dwell among us and often go unnoticed by us without even wondering if they are hungry or thirsty. Thank God there are wonderful beings like my neighbor Magaly who gives himself with mystique, dedication and charity to the cats in the parking lot. God bless my neighbor, give her a lot of health and long life! Amen.
