«¡Bienaventurado tú, Simón, hijo de Jonás!, porque eso no te lo ha revelado ni la carne ni la sangre, sino mi Padre que está en los cielos.
Ahora yo te digo: Tú eres Pedro, y sobre esta piedra edificaré mi Iglesia, y el poder del infierno no la derrotará.
Te daré las llaves del reino de los cielos; lo que ates en la tierra quedará atado en los cielos, y lo que desates en la tierra quedará desatado en los cielos».
Así como Pedro, muy seguro y con la luz e inspiración de Dios, fue capaz de reconocer que Jesús de Nazaret era y es el salvador del mundo, unigénito de Dios: “Tu eres el Mesías, el Hijo de Dios vivo” también Jesús lo fue cuando declara que sobre los hombros de Pedro recaerá la responsabilidad de edificar su Iglesia, la Iglesia del amor, de la Justicia, de la Libertad y de la Paz, Iglesia monoteista que reconoce al Padre, al Hijo y al Espíritu Santo. Iglesia de Cristo que da poder a los suyos para que: lo que aten en la tierra quedará atado en los cielos, y lo que desaten en la tierra quedará desatado en los cielos.* Hoy contamos con una Iglesia, que a pesar de sus debilidades humanas, tiene mucha fortaleza porque siempre es iluminada por la luz de su creador, Jesuicristo nuestro Señor, quien nunca la abandonará porque Él es la cabeza de su Iglesia y el poder del infierno no la derrotará. Sintámonos felices de pertenecer a la verdadera Iglesia de Cristo, la iglesia del amor, la justicia, la libertad, caridad y paz.
