Cuando todo falle en el planeta, cuando se caigan las conexiones y no tengamos energía eléctrica, cuando no existan maneras de actualizar contenidos digitales y forma de recargar los aparatos tecnológicos; entonces, los libros nos estarán esperando. Seguro estoy que se reabrirán las viejas bibliotecas y se desempolvaran los textos guardados por años; libros mágicos que al abrirlos iluminaran todo con su destello mágico e irán llenando de luz a las personas que tengan la dicha de poseerlos. De verdad creo que cuando este mundo se apague por falta de energía, muchos iremos, sin demora, a cualquier rincón de nuestras viviendas en búsqueda de aquellas hojas de papel enmohecidas por la humedad y el tiempo y nuestras suaves y delicadas manos volverán a sentirlos como se siente la tersa piel de los amantes, volveremos a pasar sus páginas amarillentas pero llenas de vida y estaremos felices de tener a los amigo que nunca debimos abandonar, los libro.

Hace unos días escribí que algunos olores quedaron en mi memoria desde la época de mi infancia feliz. Uno de esos olores inolvidables es el de las páginas de un libro nuevo. Pero no solo es su olor sino su textura, sentirlo en mis manos, detallar su portada, contraportada, abrir cada página, sumergirme en su lectura, detallar cada una de sus partes es una sensación extraordinaria. En la actualidad mucha gente ha dejado el papel a un lado y se ha ido al mundo digital, lectura a través de una pantalla sin sentir el cuerpo físico del texto. Si bien es cierto que los tiempos cambian, la vida evoluciona y todo se transforma... no es menos cierto que los libros seguirán su vida útil mas allá de los adelantos tecnológicos.

When everything fails on the planet, when the connections go down and we don't have electricity, when there are no ways to update digital content and a way to recharge technological devices; then the books will be waiting for us. I am sure that the old libraries will be reopened and the texts stored for years will be dusted off; Magical books that when opened will illuminate everything with their magical sparkle and will fill with light to people who have the joy of possessing them. I really believe that when this world shuts down due to lack of energy, many of us will go, without delay, to any corner of our homes in search of those sheets of paper moldy by humidity and time and our soft and delicate hands will feel them again as you can feel the smooth skin of lovers, we will once again turn its yellowish pages but full of life and we will be happy to have the friends we should never have abandoned, the books.

A few days ago I wrote that some smells remained in my memory from the time of my happy childhood. One of those unforgettable smells is that of the pages of a new book. But it is not only its smell but its texture, feeling it in my hands, detailing its cover, back cover, opening each page, immersing myself in its reading, detailing each of its parts is an extraordinary sensation. Today many people have put paper aside and gone to the digital world, reading through a screen without feeling the physical body of the text. While it is true that times change, life evolves and everything is transformed ... it is no less true that books will continue their useful life beyond technological advances.
