Mamma mia quanto tempo è passato da quando non ho più nemmeno aperto l'app di Ecency sul cellulare.
Mamma mia quanto tempo che a volte non apro nemmeno le notifiche di whatsapp per non rispondere.
Mamma mia, mamma mia.
Che parola semplice vero? Mamma.
Due monosillabi legati insieme.
Quasi sempre la prima parola che impariamo a dire dopo le prime lallazioni.
Spesso l'ultima che gli esseri umani invocano nel momento della morte.
Mamma. Che ci accompagna per tutta la vita. Che c'è sempre, anche quando non c'è.
Mamma. Sorella, amica, nemica a volte.
Amore immenso, amore puro, a volte soffocante, a volte carente.
Ma sempre lì, fisso, come un Sole al calore del quale si sciolgono tutte le nebbie e la neve che attanaglia le gambe mentre andiamo avanti a cercare il nostro posto sulla Terra.
Mamma, il cuore del mondo, il centro della vita.
Mamma, il rifugio.
Mamma, che due mesi fa ha cominciato a lasciare il gas acceso.
Mamma, che due mesi fa ha cominciato a fermarsi per strada confusa dalla troppa stanchezza.
Mamma, che due mesi fa ha cominciato a chiamarmi mamma.
Siamo andate quasi per gioco a fare quella risonanza magnetica al cervello.
Siamo andate ridendo a vedere il nuovo apparecchio acustico che non corregge più la tua sordità.
Ci vorrebbe un impianto cocleare dicono, dicono che sei sorda, per questo sei isolata o sembri un po' sciocca quando rispondi.
E' perchè non ci senti e rispondi a casaccio. E io rido. A volte mi arrabbio. A volte mi stanco di ripetere la stessa cosa quattro volte.
Poi invece ho letto, ho letto il referto.
Leucoencefalopatia cronica multifocale.
Che parola sontuosa, mistica, così paradossalmente semplice.
C'è un mostro, un mostro che si mangia le cellule bianche del tuo cervello.
E ogni giorno insieme a loro si porta via un ricordo, una facoltà, una capacità.
Che sia come fare la maionese che vabbè la compriamo, che sia come truccarti che vabbè ormai non hai necessità, che sia invece quanti anni hai o la strada di casa o il mio nome lui non fa distinzione.
Lui non si può arrestare, è cronico. E' cinico. E irreversibile. Non esistono farmaci creati dall'uomo o una bacchetta magica da sventolare nell'aria e abracadabra riportare indietro il tempo.
I giorni passano, velocissimi. Sembra ieri che siamo andati a fare la prima visita geriatrica, e poi le analisi, e poi la TAC, e poi l'otorino.
E poi in realtà mi accorgo che era ieri, nemmeno due mesi.
E in due mesi si sta alzando una nebbia fitta, nella quale vedo perderti, passo dopo passo.
E tutto il tempo che resta libero lo dedico a te. A portarti a fare la spesa, a guardare i tuoi occhi furbetti che mi sorridono.
Ma io so che sei consapevole che c'è qualcosa che non va.
Mi guardi e mi dici: dobbiamo tornare a casa per dare da mangiare al gatto.
E io ti dico va bene, anche se il gatto non c'è più da vent'anni.
E tu lo sai e capisci, capisci che c'è qualcosa che non va.
E vedo i tuoi occhi diventare umidi di lacrime.
Ma poi mi sorridi di nuovo, mi prendi sottobraccio e ricominciamo a camminare, passo dopo passo.
E io sto bene. Le lacrime le ho già versate quando mi sono ritrovata sola a leggere il referto.
Si sono perse nella nebbia e lì io, con te. Sottobraccio.

Mi dispiace di non riuscire ad essere attiva, provo un senso di repulsione nei confronti del PC la sera dopo giornate fra lavoro e altri impegni.

Quando parli della parola madre, ricordo mia madre, sempre così attiva, le persone che hanno una madre viva devono prendersi cura di lei, proteggerla e darle tutto ciò che chiede, le madri sono il tesoro più grande.

Abbiamo la stessa età, le stesse paure. A settembre ho portato mia madre sulla costa per un giro, vederla faticare a fare una passeggiata normale mi ha preso male. Se non altro era felice. Fottuta vecchiaia, fottuto tempo che passa, quando sei giovane non lo capisci, non te ne rendi conto.
Avrei voluto rispondere ieri, ma mi sono commossa e non sono riuscita a rispondere subito. Poi mi sono addormentata e via, un altro giorno è andato. C'è chi dice che la vita andrebbe percorsa al contrario. Nascere anziani con tutta l'esperienza e tornare via via giovani, per vivere la gioventù col senno del poi. Non lo so. Non so in realtà se so affrontarla questa cosa. È come vederla andare via ma senza andare via fisicamente. Lei è stata un pilastro, un essere infaticabile, una leonessa stacanovista. Capisco bene quello che dici. La loro fragilità confonde e fa male. D'altro canto dobbiamo considerarci fortunati che siano ancora con noi. Ma non c'è niente da fare, mamma non ha età.

E' difficile arrendersi all'evidenza di malattie che sono al di fuori della nostra comprensione, perché per noi la mamma rimane sempre la mamma, la persona che da sempre è la massima custode della nostra persona, e lo sarà per sempre, anche quando non sarà più possibile, post molto toccante...
