Hi Sammy, in this post I'm talking about the Fe-C phase diagram. Understanding microstructural transformations is thanks to the metallographic studies of Henry Clifton Sorby (19th century), who introduced microscopic observation of metals. Today we use this graph for the production of structural steels and other materials. With this graph, we can then check the hardness, strength, and ductility of steel. Ultimately, even an unpopular graph becomes a valuable tool, used every day in steel production.
