Centralization in the internet is a dangerous thing and makes it very vulnerable. Add in then that most places don't have electrical systems shielded against EMP. Everything we rely on day by day to survive is very fragile, and Cloudfare was a perfect example of just how vulnerable it is. Just imagine if much of the internet went down for one month, that would be a disaster for most crypto and companies that do most business online. And it could happen very easily...
Then again the sun could hit the earth with a massive solar storm stronger than the Carrington Event and knock out the power for continents for weeks or months. Just imagine the death tolls that would be associated with that type of scenario... Our world is very fragile and we are under constant threat of hackers, and ever the sun itself...
