I have to agree, once that information is collected it's there forever. Eventually it will come back to bite you in the ass. The problem is that soon every country will be doing the same making travel around the world more restrictive in the developed world. And it's all done under the guise of security, I don't think it really makes thing more secure, it simply gathers more information. Information that will never be deleted and can come back to haunt us all at any point in the future.
I haven't used Facebook or Instagram for many long years for the same reasons. It's dangerous, and allows people to spy on you. And it's not only people, corporations can governments can too. It really does make me miss the days before the internet, where information might not be so readily available, but I think people were honestly happier...
I think the whole world is going towards the same direction, mass control, and it's on us to fight for our right to privacy.
