🇮🇹 In Italia gli apolidi o a rischio apolidia potrebbero essere circa tremila persone.
La maggior parte delle persone apolidi appartengono a comunità Rom originarie della ex-Jugoslavia che vivono in Italia da molti anni, mentre i restanti apolidi provengono da paesi o territori come l’ex URSS, Cuba, Cina (Tibet) e i Territori Palestinesi Occupati.
📂 La legge italiana tutela gli apolidi, riconoscendo loro gli stessi diritti attribuiti ai rifugiati politici ma è decisamente lacunosa nell’individuare le procedure per ottenere il riconoscimento dello status di apolide.
🇬🇧 In Italy, stateless people or at risk of statelessness could be about three thousand people.
Most of the stateless people belong to Roma communities originating from the former Yugoslavia who have lived in Italy for many years, while the remaining stateless people come from countries or territories such as the former USSR, Cuba, China (Tibet) and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
📂 Italian law protects stateless persons, recognizing them the same rights attributed to political refugees but is definitely lacking in identifying the procedures for obtaining the recognition of statelessness status.
