Today I am again going to participate in the Splinterlands Social media challenge Theme: Tips for Beginners!. I am sharing this post as my entry for the Splinterlands Social media challenge. Theme: Tips for Beginners!:
This week's theme is Tips for the Beginners so in this post, I will share my Splinterlands experience as I have been playing Splinterlands for the last 5 years.
Introduction to Splinterlands::
Splinterlands is a Play-to-earn trading card game on top of Hive Blockchain where you can play, trade, and earn rewards. It is a free-to-play game but if you want to earn rewards you will need to buy some assets and a Starter called Spellbook. Buying a spellbook allows you to buy assets from the Splinterlands marketplace and earn rewards by playing battles.
Getting Started:
If you want to get started first of all you will be needed to create a Hive Blockchain account. As Splinterlands is built and operates on top of the Hive blockchain so to join Splinterlands first step is to create a Hive account. If you worry about how to create a Hive account don't worry because Splinterlands creates it for you but make sure to store your keys safely. You may already heard that Not Your Keys Not Your Assets.
If you already have a Hive account you don't need to create a second for Splinterlands. Simply you can log in by using your Hive account username and posting key.
Once you log in you can play battles for free but to get access to the Splinterlands assets and earn rewards for playing battles you must buy a Spellbook that costs 10$. You can buy it having many available options like Hive, usdt, etc.
Strategy Tips for Beginners:
When you are going to start your Splinterlands journey I will suggest you a few things you keep in mind when you jump in. First of all, you need to buy summoners and monsters, in the start, I would suggest only focusing on buying 2 to 3 Splinters cards if you have a low budget.
When you buy some cards and get familiar with the card's attack and abilities, you need to focus on selecting cards when entering battles. The positioning of cards matters a lot in this game even if you have very strong cards and you use them in the wrong places you can lose.
Community Welcome:
Splinterlands has a great community and every day many new players join it. Currently, It is the first blockchain game so it is exciting to see new players joining from different parts of the world. If you are a newbie I would really recommend you to join Splinterlands Discord because you will be get notified of everything happening in the Splinterlands ecosystem. There are also some Splinterlands social platforms like Twitter, Hive Blog, and Splintertalk, that you must follow for updates.
Share Your Early Experience:
I have been playing Splinterlands since November 2018 so I have seen many ups and downs in Splinterlands. I faced many hurdles during this period of time and the one I remember is Collection Power which is now replaced with the Staked SPS. Most of the time I reached the league tier for which I did not have enough Collection power so to get that league reward, I rented gold foiled legendary cards because they have high CP. The rental market was very active in those days.
Advice for Beginners:
My advice for the newbies is that if you haven't started Splinterlands yet then it is a good time to jump in because there are many exciting events happening in Splinterlands right now. The new edition Rebellion pre-sale just ended a day ago and the general sale will start in around 15 days. Also, the Land is about to be released and I think many new people will join with the release of Land.
