We sometimes set aside ourselves for the sake of others. There are moments when we give more, and receive less. And it has been an on-going unfair treatment to ourselves — especially when it's already draining us.
In the past years of my life, I always please people around me. And I forgot to look at how I've been doing by giving it all. But this time was different. I had everything under control, and I promised to focus on myself more.
To some, it might be selfish. But I guess I have given too much that I need to at least compensate to myself. I have been struggling in the idea of not meeting other's expectations from me, but now I realized it should be balanced. I should focus on being the better version of myself that I want, whether or not I satisfy other people's views and opinions.
It's now time to give myself the spotlight. ✨
