En la Semana Santa las tropas de élite de Los Regulares de Ceuta han desfilado junto a las procesiones. Son las tropas más laureadas del ejército español y además su uniforme de gala es de los más llamativos por tener un carácter exótico destacando el rojo del gorro o "tarbush".
During Holy Week, the elite troops of the Regulares de Ceuta have paraded alongside the processions. They are the most decorated troops of the Spanish army and their dress uniform is one of the most striking because of its exotic character, highlighting the red of the cap or "tarbush".
Además llevan otra prenda típica del Norte de África que es la capa o "Alquicel". El origen de esta unidad militar se remonta a principios del siglo XX y se componía mayormente de tropas indígenas de las colonias españolas en África.
They also wear another typical North African garment, the cape or "Alquicel". The origin of this military unit dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and was composed mostly of indigenous troops from the Spanish colonies in Africa.
Otros detalles que no pasan desapercibidos son los correajes de cuero y la bolsa o "Skara" hecha de marroquinería.
Other details that do not go unnoticed are the leather straps and the bag or "Skara" made of leather goods.
Actualmente esta tropa de élite opera en las ciudades de Ceuta y de Melilla, las dos en el Norte de África.
This elite troop currently operates in the cities of Ceuta and Melilla, both in North Africa.
