Nerium is a very toxic plant. Most of its parts can be poisonous for bees, animals and humans. Even so, the authorities have planted thousands of those plants at the edges of the roads. Why is that? But because they are extremely resilient to drought and pollution and on top of that they are totally beautiful :)
So when I was wondering what flower should I photograph for the weekly contest hosted by @derangedvisions nerium's bloom was the obvious choice. It is the time of the year that they decorate in a fabulous way all the country roads and give a pleasant vibe to our driving! Besides, all the winter and spring flowers are now gone and my alternatives were rather limited :)
I used for one more time my 100mm macro lens but I was surprised to see that my favourite shots were not the closest ones. Usually the magnification of a macro lens make things more interesting but in this case the middle range shots seem more appropriate. And I kind of liked the pictures with the passing cars and the view through the bushes. What about you?
