Desde el jueves, mis ojos han seguido a la multitud que va y viene, cada uno con su ansiado Roscón de Reyes en mano. Las panaderías, pastelerías y supermercados, todos abarrotados por igual en busca del tradicional postre de estas fechas.
A pesar de ser ajenos a esta tradición, aquí estamos, inmersos en nuestra nueva realidad, decididos a respetar las costumbres y sumarnos a la celebración. Así que también nos lanzamos en busca de nuestro propio roscón.
El del año pasado lo saboreamos como invitados, sin la oportunidad de elegir. Pero este año, me asesoré al instante con aquellos que, con la experiencia de “toda la vida”, me ayudaron a elegir mientras seleccionaban el suyo. “¿Lo prefieres con relleno o sin relleno?” - me preguntó una doña. Una segunda hizo lo propio: “¿De nata, chocolate o trufas?”. Y una tercera, puntualizó: “Venga, llévate el de nata y chocolate, es buenísimo”.
Con un efusivo “¡Felices fiestas!” y el deseo de “¡Que te salga un Rey y no un Haba!”, regresamos a casa con el roscón en nuestras manos.
Resulta que dentro del roscón se esconden dos “sorpresas”: un haba y una figurita de Rey. A quien le toca el haba, le toca pagar el roscón, y aquel afortunado con la figurita es coronado como Rey… ¿Adivinen quién tiene una deuda por pagar? 😂😁😅

Since Thursday, my eyes have followed the crowd coming and going, each person with their coveted “Roscón de Reyes” in hand. Bakeries, pastry shops, and supermarkets, all equally crowded in search of the traditional dessert of these dates.

It turns out that inside the “roscón,” two “surprises” are hidden: a bean and a King figurine. Whoever gets the bean has to pay for the “roscón,” and the fortunate one with the figurine is crowned as the King… Guess who has a debt to pay? 😂😁😅
