Thin Pork Belly Slices Cooked in Black Bean Sauce is So Yummy!

I must share about this cooking recipe that I stumbled across accidentally because I did not expect it to be this delicious!

A friend gave me this black bean powder that is usually used for Zha Jiang noodle, I believe. It is produced by Korea with the wordings of the packaging all in Korean so I did not really understand how to use it at first.

Ingredients:

I had some thin pork belly slices in my freezer and I was looking for ways to cook it.

  • Thin pork belly slices cut into bite size
  • Diced celery
  • Diced carrots
  • Chopped Garlic
  • Korean Black Bean powder (half a pack)

How to cook it

  1. Heat up some oil in the pan and cook the garlic first.
  2. When the oil is hot enough, add in the cut pork belly slices and stir fry them till they are cooked.
  3. Add in the diced celery and carrots.
  4. Add in half a pack of the Korean Black Bean powder and stir it thoroughly in the pan.
  5. Add some water and let it simmer so the meat and vegetables can soak up the goodness in the gravy.

I totally did not expect it could turn out this good that I went to take rice to go with it.

My conclusion about this dish is it is one of my cooking #gems! It is very VERY IRRESISTABLE AND I AM GOING TO COOK IT AGAIN TOMORROW! Woohoo! If you can find it in any Asian market, you have got to try this magic powder, I tell you!
