Dry-fried green beans and a few slices of pork and tomatoes.
Lo Mien (Pancit Canton with veggies).
Still the dry-fried beans; zooming in :)
There was bits of meat there too.
One of the things we usually do when going out is trying new food but there are also some ordinary and traditional dishes that we love having time and again especially when traversing along the Halsema Highway. Some of which are those on the photos shared on this post, re: dry-fried beans and sauteed noodles (lo mien or locally-made soft noodles which we commonly call Pancit Canton). "Long noodles are the key to long life" they say so you can imagine why we love having them, lol!
Joking aside, I can't explain but it just feels good to have food prepared on the restaurants along that route. The aroma and sight of them make me feel nostalgic. Probably because when we were kids, my father often traveled to the city and he used to bring home takeaways most of the time. Mom was usually the happiest when there's grilled pork chop and Pancit, LOL! It's quite funny because these food are easy to prepare at home but there seems to be something special about them. Not that they are cooked differently.
Anyhow, we were coming home on Saturday around 7 in the evening when we stopped by one of the known food places called "Al's Restaurant" in LTB town which I think is a favorite amongst the staffs of the Provincial Capitol and other offices and establishments nearby because we noticed quite a lot of them each time we go there especially during lunch hours.

Back to our meal though, we love that the dry-fried beans and the canton aren't salty. Both of us prefer less salt on our diet so we always appreciate it when we get served with just the perfect taste which our tastebuds are looking for.
We were unable to finish them so we had our leftovers on take out which we reheated the following morning for breakfast.
