I want to share a little bit about the sport I did yesterday. For the first time, I tried archery, and it was like a dream come true. I felt like Katniss Everdeen, The Girl on Fire.

At first, the class was private. I learned a little about the bow and its parts, and also about the arrows.

After a bit of discussion, I went straight to the practice. Interestingly, my dominant hand has always been my right, but yesterday in class, they asked me which side was dominant, and naturally, I answered right. They gave me a test to verify it, and the result showed that my left eye is dominant. Therefore, to use the bow, I have to use my dominant eye, which is my left. I was terrified to learn this because I'm not good at doing things with my left side, but fortunately, I didn't have any difficulty. From the beginning, everything went well, and I even received compliments on my skill level, considering it was my first time.

I practiced for a while without aiming because I hadn't been taught how. I asked, but they told me I should first familiarize myself with the movement, the feeling, the force the bow exerts on my arms. Once I achieved that, they taught me how to aim, and from there I began to focus my shots more. It was a great experience, and I will definitely continue with the classes.

I love the reference of your archery class. "The Girl On Fire" was an iconic line when the seasons were released and I am glad you were able to feel like Katniss in your archery experience. Looking at your position and how you stand, you look like you already mastered archery. Glad your left hand helped you perform best in. Continue honing your skill in archery @josehany !

Thank you so much, the class really helped me a lot and I quickly adapted to holding the bow and also with aiming.

This is such a great photo of you... you look so powerful. In that outfit you look a little like Tomb Raider :

I've always wanted to try archery but keep forgetting to make it happen. It looks super fun.

I went in with two references in mind: Katniss and Lara Croft, so yes.

Go for it! I always had it in mind too, and I decided to make it happen.

precision is key for this sport

Control is key

Oh. I would love to try learning archery too!

It’s fun!! I hope you can try it some day

Your experience is very cool. I love archery, and a few years ago I had the opportunity to meet an incredible bow and arrow craftsman who makes all his equipment in the same way as the original primitive bows, mainly following more oriental lines, that is, with bamboo! He also uses a regional wood from my country for the arrows. Archery is almost like meditation, it's fascinating. Thank you for sharing!
