Chimchar the firebender!

Hello everyone,

Today I'd like to introduce you to another Pokémon in my series of digital images, this time it's time for a fire Pokémon from the fourth generation.

Along with Turtwig and Piplup, Chimchar is one of three Sinnoh starter Pokémon available at the start of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

Biology

Its description is beautiful, at the very beginning I wanted to change it however I decided that I will quote it here because someone did a very good job describing it.

"Chimchar is a bipedal Pokémon that resembles a chimpanzee. Its fur is mostly a shade of orange, although its snout, outer ears, underbelly, hands, and feet are bright yellow. Its backside has a small, round, red spot that is usually obscured by flames produced by burning gas in its stomach. These flames go out when he goes to sleep, and faintly burn when he feels unwell. Its ears are large compared to the size of its head and red inside. It has two pointed teeth in its upper jaw. Chimchar has red meanings almost surrounding its eyes, a vortex-like symbol on its chest, and five fingers on its hands with three toes. On its head it has a wiry comb of hair. Being very agile, it is able to climb the rocky ledges of the high mountains in which it lives."

Currently Chimchar has 9 of his cards in the game of which none are special cards, this may direct a little to the fact that he is not a famous Pokémon, however he seemed very cute to me and as a result I couldn't resist drawing him.

Trivia

• Chimchar shares its category with Grookey. They are both known as Pokémon Chimpanzee.
• Chimchar is a combination of chimp and charcoal or char.
• Hikozaru is a combination of 火 hi (fire), 子 ko (baby), and 猿 saru (monkey). Zaru is also used to describe a monkey.
