Aunque no soy una persona particularmente fanática de Mafalda, entiendo lo importante que es para la cultura latinoamericana y lo atemporal que son sus mensajes, frases, dichos y críticas. Crecí viendo las historietas de esta caricatura y aunque en su momento no entendía nada de lo que hablaba, hoy en día lo veo con ojos de adulta y ha sido un golpe duro entender cada una de las palabras que Quino transmitía a través de sus ilustraciones.
Fui a la exposición con mi amiga Azul y su pareja Jeremy, fue una visita guiada e interactiva donde te van explicando la historia de Mafalda desde sus origenes, su personalidad, las personas que comparten con ella y lo que significa cada elemento de estas ilustraciones; también hay muchos juegos para que la experiencia sea muy divertida y llamativa para las personas de todas las edades.
Although I am not a particular fan of Mafalda, I understand how important she is to Latin American culture and how timeless her messages, phrases, sayings and criticisms are. I grew up watching the cartoons of this caricature and although at the time I did not understand anything of what he was talking about, today I see it with adult eyes and it has been a hard blow to understand each of the words that Quino transmitted through his illustrations.
I went to the exhibition with my friend Azul and her partner Jeremy, it was a guided and interactive visit where they explain the history of Mafalda from its origins, her personality, the people who share with her and what each element of these illustrations means; there are also many games to make the experience fun and engaging for people of all ages.
Como comenté, conocí a Mafalda estando muy pequeña y mi capacidad de entendimiento era diferente, el día que visité esta exposición pude leer muchas frases celebres de estas historietas y no les miento cuando les digo que muchas me afectaron hasta casi llevarme al borde de las lágrimas.
No voy ahondar en el tema porque quiero hacer un post dedicado exclusivamente a aquellas frases que leí en el museo que me conmovieron o significaron algo para mí.
As I said, I met Mafalda when I was very young and my capacity of understanding was different, the day I visited this exhibition I was able to read many famous phrases of these comics and I am not lying when I tell you that many of them affected me to the point of almost bringing me to the verge of tears.
I will not delve into the subject because I want to make a post dedicated exclusively to those phrases that I read in the museum that moved me or meant something to me.
El segundo día fui con un grupo grande de amigos de la universidad, teníamos bastante tiempo libre porque uno de nuestros profesores no pudo dar clases así que aprovechamos ese tiempo para visitar la exposición.
En esta segunda visita presté más atención a las cosas que, anteriormente, habían llamado mi atención, también pude detallar ciertos elementos que en la primera visita pasé desapercibidos y fue mucho más especial como personal; hubo un juego que en la anterior visita no se pudo hacer que era solucionar una problemática mundial al estilo como Mafalda lo haría, nuestra problemática era el calentamiento global así que nuestra solución es abrir todos los refrigeradores del mundo al mismo tiempo para que se enfríe en ambiente.
The second day I went with a large group of friends from the university, we had plenty of free time because one of our professors couldn't give classes so we took advantage of that time to visit the exhibition.
In this second visit I paid more attention to the things that, previously, had called my attention, I could also detail certain elements that in the first visit I passed unnoticed and it was much more special as personal; there was a game that in the previous visit couldn't be done which was to solve a world problem in the style as Mafalda would do it, our problem was global warming so our solution is to open all the refrigerators in the world at the same time to cool down the environment.
Esta exposición me parece muy bonita, pude conectar mucho con esta historieta y comprender porque es tan importante como atemporal en nuestra cultura, también es algo triste porque significa que, apesar de los años, seguidos estancados en el mismo capítulo de la historia solo que con diferentes personajes.
Mi personaje favorito es Libertad, me identifique mucho con ella por ser la más pequeña del grupo, la más inocente y más alegre de todos; me recordó a cuando era una niña muy parecida a ella, tanto que estoy considerando tatuar su ilustración en mi piel.
I found this exhibition very beautiful, I was able to connect a lot with this comic and understand why it is so important and timeless in our culture, it is also something sad because it means that, despite the years, we are still stuck in the same chapter of the story only with different characters.
My favorite character is Libertad, I identified a lot with her for being the smallest of the group, the most innocent and cheerful of all; she reminded me of when I was a little girl very similar to her, so much so that I am considering tattooing her illustration on my skin.
Fue una experiencia magica, conmovedora y llena de muchísimo aprendizaje; me hizo tener una introspección muy fuerte a nivel personal como a nivel social, si son de Caracas o tienen la suerte de que en su ciudad tendrá lugar esta exposición, la cual hacen a nivel mundial, vayan sin dudarlo, es una experiencia única e inigualable, no se van a arrepentir.

It was a magical experience, moving and full of a lot of learning; it made me have a very strong introspection on a personal and social level, if you are from Caracas or are lucky enough that in your city will take place this exhibition, which they do worldwide, go without hesitation, it is a unique and unparalleled experience, you will not regret it.

Está de moda por los pocos días que va a estar en la ciudad pero la verdad es algo que vale la pena, es todo muy bonito y como es una visita guiada como interactiva, aprendes mucho tanto de su creador como de Mafalda en sí; realmente es una experiencia que recomiendo y más por el hecho de no saber cuándo vuelven a venir a Caracas.
