We had a little stop at Lille to change trains after the Eurostar. The little trashcan says "Thank you" - the French like their signs.

First evening, the moon was new and the sky was fairly clear.

Next morning, I spotted the Jesuit church from my hotel balcony.

And had breakfast on the terrace - I'm losing my touch when it comes to photographing the food, it was too yummy.

Sadly we took this goofball with us. Oh wait, that's me!

Just got back from ten days in the Alsace in eastern France, a few km outside Strasbourg. It was hugely relaxing and easy-going. I'm very much missing my routine of being fed, tidied up after and otherwise rotating between sun-lounger, spa pool and sauna. These are a bit of a teaser from the first 24 hours. I'm sifting through for some more interesting ones :)

Hey Lloyd! Hope the weather was good for your trip. Seems a bit of a gamble lately.

Yeah, when we told people we were going to France, everyone told us to stay hydrated and keep out of the sun, but it's a big country and we were in a very pleasant part - low twenties celsius with a mix of sunshine and showers. Also I grew up having holidays in Wales, so I always have low expectations weather-wise :)
