In 2019, I took a trip to Portugal during peak COVID19... I was pretty worried and anxious, to be honest.
Portugal is a 3-hour drive from Gibraltar, so we set off and stopped in a small town, just past Seville which is where we are pictured in our 'gas masks' I remember taking this as a memory for years to come when COVID is a thing of the past.
We stayed in a hotel called Pousada Palácio in Estoi. A stunning converted palace from the 18th century.
One evening my 'now husband' told me to be ready to have a drink on the balcony for sunset - not uncommon for him to plan nice events, so I didn't think much of it.
Once on the balcony, he said to the man working in the bar 'please can you take a photo of us' little did I know the man was in on the surprise and actually making a video of the proposal!
After an emotional YESSSSSSS we shared a bottle of champagne on the Juliette balcony overlooking the Algarve.
One of the best nights of my life.
