Some Information about Vernon Sanders Law

Vernon Sanders Law (better known as Vern Law) was born in Meridian, Idaho in 1930-March-12.

He is known primarily as a professional baseball player who played for Major League Baseball's Pittsburgh Pirates from 1950 to 1951 and from 1954 through 1967. The gap in seasons is due to military service.

He finished with his career with a 0.524 winning percentage (52.4%) consisting of 162 wins and 147 losses. During the 1960 season he led MLB with 18 complete games out of the 35 he started.

1960 is also the year Vern Law reached the post-season for his only appearance in the World Series.
The Pirates defeated the New York Yankees in 7 games to win the World Series. He won 2 games and lost 0.
