Our room is all-purpose until we can build more so having the kitchenware, food, and dorm stuff in one place is tricky. We managed to take a few things away and replace them with the essentials to save up space.

Ours is like a tiny house so every little space well used counts. We had a lot of trouble with things lying around everywhere and not being easy to find so this reorganizing was absolutely necessary.

@choli 's transformation of an old cardboard box into a unique crafty container for small things.

We've agreed to leave this a sort of altar for meaningful things.

Thanks to better organizing our tiny space, a lot more things can fit in. So we're happy to add to new sprout jars to our home. The left is lentils once again and the right is soy beans though we don't know how well that'll work since we've never done it.

Lentil sprouts needing to be eaten soon. One of the wonderful things about this is that with only a handful of lentils you start getting more and more lasting you for several servings. That amount is what we have after four meals. Kalanchoe to the right.

After moving things here and there we really needed something warm and calorie rich. We chopped potatoes, pumpkin, and beets, added sesame seeds and smoked pepper (known as merken around here), and threw it into the oven with some olive oil. Delicious 😋

We hadn't shared anything about our preparation of the soil for this year. Last year we planted without doing this because lack of time.
This year we have added copious amounts of leaves, dung and hay to the soil, even before winter started.

Now it was time to sow beets. We have a limited amount of crops that can grow in this weather and beets are one of the most useful as you can eat their leaves while the bulb grows, providing food for a good part of the year.

We tried to take a picture with Nezuko to end the post as we've done in the last ones but didn't have luck with her poses. This was the final try when we realized she was done with the photoshoot and looking a bit annoyed already 😅

This year has been particularly cold and more than once we've considered leaving this place to travel to a more tropical area of the world, to live as we would really like: surrounded by all sorts of fruit trees, heat, and warm waters. And yet, to do so we must gather resources playing the cards we were dealt with best we can.

We've also worked hard on the building of our house and we've tried to stay strong so that we can finish it properly and if we were to leave, be able to invite someone to live here while we're away.

The post starts like this because there is something important when you live in adverse conditions and it is to make the most of it, despite that there are some things you just can't change, such as the weather. In this case making the most of our space becomes crucial to a better life.

Our tasks of these last days have focused on using our room more efficiently, taking out what wasn't serving much purpose and bringing in stuff we had lying around that could help us organize better.

It's also a good time to sow as much as possible, as this transition from winter to spring is the perfect time for seeds to begin sprouting, taking advantage of all the moisture accumulated in the ground.

Sorry about not showing the rest of the toilet installation/usage, we still got lots to do before we have the place properly adapted to add this feat. Thanks for stopping by, till next time!

Living in a small space, really makes you more creative. As you have to come up with storage solutions. It's something I keep doing as the needs of my kids change often, but it's fun to come up with new ideas.
I left Ireland because of the weather and it was so difficult to live how I wanted, i.e in a bus, everything got so damp in the winter and mouldy. So I understand the pull for warmer places. As you have said, ye have put so much work into this space, so it would be hard to leave. But, It will always be there and you two definitely deserve some time in the sun xxxx
