Shivaratri is a holy festival celebrated in Nepal. Shivaratri is a day of Lord Shiva. The festival is an annual festival that falls at the end of winter. It is believed to be the day to celebrate the marriage of Shiva & Parvati Goddess. While some believe it to be the day of Shiva Tandav(tandav is a fierce dance performance of Lord Shiva with his trident). During this time, several pilgrims visit the temple to offer their prays and wish for a great life ahead.

Bonfire is one such moment on the day. A temple is usually in every community, and a bonfire happens in each community where people come into absorb the bonfire heat. It's also the day of Gaza(opium). Shiva is belived to have been fond of opium, and various temples, slight mixture of opium is used in the offering for the pilgrimage.

Bhajan(special music fest in temple singing about gods and life devoted to Gods& Goddesses) is performed during the festival. People dance around the bonfire, and also break their fasting by the end of the day. The Bhajan echoes the community, while the bonfire lights the surroundings.
