El fuerte de San Carlos se encuentra ubicado en Perote, Veracruz.
La ciudad de Perote está asentada en la zona centro - occidental del Estado, sobre la Altiplanicie Mexicana, en las faldas del Cofre de Perote, su cumbre se encuentra al sureste; constituyendo parte de la Sierra Madre Oriental, y cuya mayor altura radica en 4.282 metros sobre el nivel del mar.

The city of Perote is located in the central-western area of the state, on the Mexican Altiplicie, on the slopes of the Cofre de Perote, its summit is located to the southeast; constituting part of the Sierra Madre Oriental, and whose highest altitude is 4,282 meters above sea level.
Lazos Militares
Este fuerte juega un papel muy importante dentro de la historia militar de México ya que es en el donde se formaron los primeros cadetes del Colegio Militar, donde nacen a su vez los primeros oficiales de las fuerzas armadas mexicanas.
Military Ties
This fort plays a very important role in the military history of Mexico since it is here where the first cadets of the Military College were formed, where the first officers of the Mexican Armed Forces were born.
Este fuerte nace de un posible ataque inglés ( construido en 1975) una vez que conquistaron la Habana, sirviendo como resguardo para los españoles durante la guerra de independencia posterior a eso es cuando entra en función como el primer colegio militar en México.
This fort was born from a possible English attack (built in 1975) once they conquered Havana, serving as a shelter for the Spanish during the war of independence after that is when it comes into function as the first military college in Mexico.

Es el fuerte más grande que existe en toda América siendo este un patrimonio cultural para el pueblo de México.
It is the largest fort that exists in the Americas and it is a cultural heritage for the people of Mexico.
Al entrar en dicha fortaleza podemos observar dos estatuas de dos cadetes que custodian la entrada sin embargo ocultan un leyenda llena de celos y discordia ya que se presume que ambos cadetes se encontraban enamorados de la misma mujer y al encontrarse en su servicio de centinela sin importar nada se abalanzaron uno sobre el otro entrelazando las bayonetas de su arma y quitándose la vida, al caer ambos cadetes quedaron entrelazados simulando la posición de un abrazo al cual se le llamó el abrazo eterno, ambos quedaron en esa posición hasta que fueron encontrados sin vida generando una gran polémica ya que el fuerte había quedado desprotegido lo cual incurre en delito pero la más importante la muerte de dos cadetes.
Upon entering the fortress we can see two statues of two cadets guarding the entrance, however, they hide a legend full of jealousy and discord because it is presumed that both cadets were in love with the same woman and when they were on sentry duty, no matter what, they pounced on each other interlocking the bayonets of their weapon and taking their own lives, Both cadets remained in that position until they were found lifeless, generating a great controversy since the fort had been left unprotected, which was a crime, but the most important was the death of two cadets.
