Through all the trials and tribulations, my garden has kept producing, mostly maters and eggplant and banana peppers
The eggplants were an after thought, and I wish I hadn't planted them because I don't cook with them, at least not yet.
They are also susceptible to Squash bugs.
I've pulled out the Yellow Squash and Zuchinni plants, after they produced a bit but then were infested with squash bugs, beetles and their eggs and larvae
↑I did get enough yellow squash to fix a mess for myself
Now, I am getting more maters than I can use or give away, so I'm cooking them enmasse for storage

Now because of my health, I am not able to work in my garden as I would like, this may be the last year I spend time, money and effort on it.
I catch my toe on just about everything. I can't work in my garden with a cane in one hand, so what am I to do?
I had this goard volunteer, the only thing I can thing of was a seed that had fallen from the bird feeder I had above that spot... like FIVE YEARS AGO? 🤨
Perhaps there is still hope for me

Wow, you are getting a lot out of that garden! I'm not a big fan of eggplant, although I have grown it a time or two. Years ago.
I recently saw a recipe for "Meatless Mousaka" but never tried it. I have dehydrated a few in my air fryer, not bad that way for a snack

What a good little harvest from your garden Jerry. Glad you were able to get one out and tend to it. Finally got a handful of cherry tomatoes out this year myself. They are just showing some little buggers on em now. Won't be long. If I can keep em alive.
Good luck with that, try to not let them be in the hot sun too much.
I gave up on cherry maters, they just don't do well for me.
They are the perfect garden snack tho, I love them
oh, the yellow squash looks so good! That's one of my favorites! My favorite way to cook it is to sautée slices of it in a skillet with onions, in a little bit of butter. With those eggplant and tomatoes, you could make a yummy pot of Ratatouille! Tomatoes, canned in Mason jars or frozen, are always welcome for making soup or marinara sauce in the winter! What a wonderful bounty you have there! 😋
