Anthurium is one of the most beautiful and valuable flowers belonging to the Habarala genus. So today we will talk about Anthurium cultivation.
You can see this type of flower in almost every house in Sri Lanka ..so my house also has very rich anthurium flowers.My mother likes this type the most.These flowers are used for garden decoration and for various occasions, and the value of this type of flower never decreases.
The popularity of these flowers does not decrease like other types of flowers..This type of flower grown at home can also be done as a self-employment that can earn us money.. For that purpose, we conduct programs to grow anthurium flowers in our villages. Also, among the flowers of Sri Lanka, anthurium cultivation is known as a type of flower that can earn foreign exchange.
The homeland of anthurium is South America, and this type of flower is exported from Sri Lanka to Japan, Maldives and European countries.You can get a really high income from this type of flower that can be grown with little expertise.
Pink and white colors are used for funerals
Anthuriums come in many colors and varieties. Anthurium consisting of white, red, purple, orange, pink and green colors consists of red hot, bubblegum, ladyjean types. The types of flowers in my house are shown below.
💁These can be cultivated well in our area because it is humid, this flower is more suitable for humid climate and not suitable for cold climate. This cultivation can be maintained well in intermediate wet zones and this cultivation can be maintained in dry zones as well. Pink anthuriums are easy to grow in zones because pink anthuriums are low maintenance.
This type of flower can be grown under the two cultivation methods of pots and beds.
This type of flower is a plant that needs more shade, so it needs good shade. It also needs good moisture. Water should be cultivated so that it drains well. By applying water at least twice a day, moisture can be preserved.
This crop can be maintained well by applying fertilizer at least once in three months. We can provide a slightly dim light by means of artificial nets with fairly large trees. Trees like coconut, mango are suitable. Trees with spreading leaves are suitable at all times of the year. In my house, anthuriums are grown in the shade of mango trees.
Snails, mites, mealybugs, leaf-eating worms are harmful to this crop, so fungicides available in the market can be used for that

🧑🌾How to plant anthurium plant?
👉We need these
📌️A flower pot
📌️the sand
📌️Red bricks
📌️dry leaves
📌️coconut husk(Soak in water for about three days)
📌️coconut coir
First, the foot of the flower pot should be pierced. Now put red brick cubes in it and then dry it and cover it with leaves. It can prevent the fertilizer from washing away from the plant. Next add some sand and then add coconut husk and coconut coir and plant the anthurium plant. Now add some sand again and pack a layer of coconut husk. The plant is planted. Water well and keep it in a cool, shady, low light place.
Anthuriums are usually cut in the morning, because the flowers have absorbed moisture well in the morning and the flowers are flat. And generally, the first flower can be obtained from a well-grown plant after about 8 months and the flowers can be cut after 4 to 5 days.
Use a sharp knife to cut the flowers. Immediately after cutting, put it in a bowl of water.Anthurium flowers are a type of flower that can be kept for a long time without fading.
Indeed, Anthurium is a crop that can become a good source of income. Unemployed people can do this as self-employment and there are plenty of courses available. If you do this in a regular way, you can sell very good valuable flowers and get income.
