Es una canción compuesta por el músico venezolano Jose Manzo Perroni en 1958 e interpretado por Hugo Blanco Manzo. Según se cuenta, José Manzo, compuso la canción y se la entregó a su sobrino Hugo Blanco para que la interpretara, sin embargo, varios años después, Hugo Blanco afirmaría ser quien creó la melodía y hasta el momento se mantiene la polémica por la autoría del tema. José Manzo Perroni, antes de entregarle la obra Moliendo Café (letra y música) a su sobrino Hugo Blanco para que la interpretara la registro como de su autoría, Hugo que en ese momento estaba dándose a conocer junto a un nuevo talento nacional de nombre Simón Díaz como cantante, interpretó la obra y adquirió fama inmediata, mucha más que la que había obtenido en el resto de su carrera, por lo que comenzó a atribuirse la autoría de la canción, opacando y quitándole los méritos a su tío José.
