Bienvenidos a mi blog musical, hoy les traigo una interpretación con la trompeta de «I Will Survive», una canción con una mezcla de géneros increíbles como lo son R&B, Soul, Funk, y música disco. Fue compuesta por Freddie Perren y Dino Fekaris. La primera vez que escuche esta canción fue en una escena de la película llamada Todavía sé lo que hicieron el verano pasado de 1998. Era una escena donde la protagonista canta esta canción en karaoke. La versión más conocida es la de Gloria Gaynor, aunque en el mundo hispano tenemos también la adaptación de Celia Cruz en español que se llama “Yo Viviré”. La letra de la canción habla de los sentimientos que puede atravesar alguien al superar la ruptura de una relación. Es una búsqueda interna de fuerza para superar el miedo, la tristeza y un corazón roto.
Welcome to my music blog, today I bring you a trumpet interpretation of «I Will Survive», a song with an incredible mix of genres such as R&B, Soul, Funk, and disco. It was composed by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris. The first time I heard this song was in a scene in the movie called I Still Know What You Did Last Summer of 1998. It was a scene where the protagonist sings this song in karaoke. The best-known version is that of Gloria Gaynor, although in the Hispanic world we also have Celia Cruz's adaptation in Spanish called “Yo Viviré”. The lyrics of the song talk about the feelings that someone can go through when overcoming the breakup of a relationship. It is an internal search for strength to overcome fear, sadness and a broken heart.
Si hay algo hermoso de la música es que tiene la capacidad de levantar nuestro ánimo, de motivarnos e inspirarnos en tiempos difíciles. Estoy muy seguro de que muchas canciones les han salvado la vida a las personas. Seguramente recordarán la frase de Arquímedes que dice “Dadme un punto de apoyo y moveré el mundo”. La música es un punto de apoyo, que nos motiva a levantarnos y produce cambios sustanciosos en el mundo que nos rodea. Recuerdo mis tiempos de misionero en los cuales me levantaba muy temprano por la mañana a hacer ejercicios, y prepararme para el día. Aunque no disponía de radio, ni algún equipo para reproducir música, cada mañana amanecía cantando. Esa era una fuerza motivadora, era algo que te hacía sonreír, y te motivaba a hacer las cosas de manera divertida y diferente. Incluso me encantaba improvisar en algunas líneas melódicas de canciones, y le cambia la letra. Esa actitud era contagiosa, si hay algo que se contagia es la felicidad. Si alguien quiere tener una vida feliz, ama, ríe, canta y sueña.
If there is something beautiful about music, it is that it has the ability to lift our spirits, motivate us and inspire us in difficult times. I am very sure that many songs have saved people's lives. Surely you will remember the phrase of Archimedes that says "Give me a point of support and I will move the world". Music is a point of support, which motivates us to get up and produces substantial changes in the world around us. I remember my missionary days in which I would get up very early in the morning to exercise and prepare for the day. Although she did not have a radio or any equipment to play music, every morning she woke up singing. That was a motivating force, it was something that made you smile, and it motivated you to do things in a fun and different way. I even loved to improvise on some melody lines of songs, and it changes the lyrics. That attitude was contagious, if there is something that is contagious it is happiness. If someone wants to have a happy life, love, laugh, sing and dream.
