Auch ich lasse mal wieder was von mir hören. Letzten Samstag hatte @detlev zum Hive Meetup in Aachen eingeladen. Da ich schon das letzte verpasst hatte, wollte ich dem letzten Meetup 2023 nicht fehlen. Daher beschloss ich kurzerhand Detlef früh zuzusagen. Es stand von Anfang an fest, dass ich nicht alleine fahren würde, sondern noch einen anderen Hivian mitbringen würde. @werkserber ist ein guter Freund, durch den ich selbst vor eineinhalb Jahren von Krypto und Blockhains erfahren habe. Er hat mir bei einem Sondeltreffen davon erzählt. Er selbst war jetzt Gesundheit bedingt über 1 Jahr aus Hive raus. Doch Anfang des Sommer gings ihm wieder deutlich besser und er startete auch bei Hive wieder einen neuen Anlauf. So kam es dann auch, dass ich ihn gefragt habe, ob er mit zum Meetup nach Aachen möchte. Nachdem er zugesagt hatte, habe ich ihn dann am letzten Samstag aus Neuss abgeholt und wir sind gemeinsam nach Aachen gefahren.

I'll let you hear from me again. Last Saturday @detlev invited me to the Hive Meetup in Aachen.
Since I had already missed the last one, I didn't want to miss the last Meetup in 2023. So I decided to accept Detlef's invitation early.
It was clear from the start that I wouldn't be traveling alone, but would bring another Hivian with me. @werkserber is a good friend who introduced me to crypto and blockchains a year and a half ago.
He told me about it at a sondel meeting.
He himself was out of Hive for over a year due to health reasons.
But at the beginning of the summer, he was feeling much better again and started a new attempt at Hive.
So I asked him if he would like to come along to the meetup in Aachen.
After he said yes, I picked him up from Neuss last Saturday and we drove to Aachen
together.
Das Meetup wurde wie auch schon im Vorjahr in der Brauerei Hopfen und Mals veranstaltet, dort bucht Detlev immer einen kleinen Raum, der etwas separiert ist vom Rest. Doch wie es öfters mal bei mir ist, habe ich Depp die falsche Zeit im Kopf gehabt und so waren wir gute zweieinhalb Stunden zu spät. Da ich von 19 ihr als Start für das Meetup ausgegangen bin, doch um die Uhrzeit startet das Bier Testing, für welches man sich anmelden konnte. Das Meetup hingegen hatte um 16.30 begonnen. Anfangs waren es noch 4 Hivians, die dort waren. @detlev, @achimmertens, @annasdiary und @chrislybear, die beide aus Köln angereist waren. Leider haben wir die beiden verpasst, da sie um 19 Uhr als wir ankamen, schon weg waren.
As in the previous year, the Meetup was held in the Hopfen und Mals brewery, where Detlev always books a small room that is somewhat separate from the rest.
But as it often happens with me, I had the wrong time in my head and so we were a good two and a half hours late. I'd assumed that the Meetup would start at 19:00,
but that's when the beer testing starts, which you could register for.
The Meetup, on the other hand, had started at 16:30. At the beginning there were still
4 Hivians there. @detlev, @achimmertens, @annasdiary and @chrislybear, who had both traveled from Cologne. Unfortunately, we missed them as they had already left by 7pm when we arrived.
Wir haben dann kurz mit Detlev gesprochen und erfahren, dass er sich nach dem Meetup auch für Bier Testing eingetragen hat und er dort erstmal noch je Weile ist. Werkseber und ich haben die Zeit genutzt und sind über den Weihnachtsmarkt gegangen und haben gemütlich, was bei Griechen was zu Abend gegessen. Das hat gute 2 Stunden gedauert. Als wir wieder im Hopfen und Mals ankamen, waren auch Detlev und Achim in der letzten Phase des Testings. Detlev kam dann nach einer weiteren halben Stunde zu uns und hat uns mit zu Achim und ihm genommen. Dort habe ich dann @achimmerten kennenlernen dürfen, den ich bis dato noch gar nicht kannte. Ein echt netter und sympathischer Hivian ist und auch das, was er auf Hive macht, hört sich interessant an.
We then spoke briefly with Detlev
and found out that he had also signed
up for beer testing after the meetup and would be there for a while.
Werkseber and I used the time to walk
around the Christmas market and have a leisurely dinner at a Greek restaurant.
That took a good 2 hours.
When we arrived back at Hopfen und Mals, Detlev and Achim were also in the final phase of testing.
Detlev came to us after another half hour and took us with him and Achim.
There I was able to get to know @achimmerten, who I hadn't even met before.
He's a really nice and likeable Hivian and what he does on Hive sounds interesting.
Doch als Erstes gab es von Detlev kleine Geschenke. Ich hatte mal wieder viel Glück und hab meiner Meinung nach die besten Sachen abgestaubt. Ich bekam 2 Shirts, einen Rucksack, diverse Aufkleber von hive und sogar einen Notizblock mit Hive Kulli. Detlev hatte sich vorab schon ein Taxi für eine bestimmte Uhrzeit organisiert, weil er nicht damit gerechnet hat, dass wir erst um 19 Uhr eintrudeln. Daher war er nach einer guten Stunde dann leider weg. Achim hat uns dann ein wenig mehr über die Dinge erzählt, die er auf Hive macht und wir konnten auch von unseren Sachen erzählen.
But first there were little presents from Detlev.
Once again I was very lucky and in my opinion I got the best things.
I got 2 shirts, a rucksack, various stickers from hive and even a notepad with a hive pullover.
Detlev had already organized a cab for a certain time in advance because he hadn't expected us to arrive at 7pm. So unfortunately he was gone after a good hour.
Achim then told us a bit more about the things he does on Hive and we were also able to talk about our stuff.
Da kenne ich auch noch Projekte, die ähnlich sind und denke vernetzen waren eine prima Sachen. Vllt kann ich da ja vermitteln.
Da das Bier Testing doch Spuren hinterlassen hatte, ist Achim auch nicht mehr allzu lange geblieben und wollte nach Hause. Wir haben uns dann auch auf den Heimweg gemacht. Wir mussten ja noch eine Weile fahren. Ich hab Werkseber dann in Neuss wieder rausgeworfen und bin auch nach Hause.
Als ich um 2 zu Hause ankam, habe ich dann mir noch schnell noch geraucht und ein wenig ferngesehen und bin dann ins Bett. Es war trotz Verspätung ein schönes Meetup und ich konnte Detlev mal wieder sehen und habe einen neuen Hivian kennengelernt. Ich denke, dass ich beim nächsten wieder pünktlich sein werde.

Achim didn't stay too much longer and wanted to go home.
We then also made our way home. We still had a while to drive.
I dropped Werkseber off in Neuss and went home too.
When I got home at 2,
I had a quick smoke and watched a bit of TV and then went to bed.
It was a nice meetup despite the delay and I was able to see Detlev again and got to know a new Hivian. I think I'll be on time again for the next one. I wish you all a
