I turned 70...! || Cumplí 70...!

Hey! A few days ago, in this very month of August, I had the pleasure of sharing my 50th video on @threespeak . Now, I've been pleased to see another significant number (at least for me) that has come to my work on Hive: reaching number 70 in reputation. I'd like to tell you a few things about how I feel about reaching this progress and some reflections I've made about it. Thanks for joining me.

Ahora, he visto con agrado otro número significativo (al menos para mí) que ha llegado a mi trabajo en Hive: alcanzar el número 70 de reputación. Quisiera contarles algunas cosas sobre cómo me siento al alcanzar éste progreso y algunas reflexiones que he hecho al respecto. Gracias por acompañarme.

Like you, I started with a reputation of 25, and without much understanding of its relevance. When I published for the first time and jumped from 25 to 48 I thought I was Rocky finishing climbing the stairs in the movie. But that euphoria was short-lived, as I saw how it was getting harder and harder to reach the next reputation number. Well, then I understood that it was designed that way, and that the effort, time and voting required to go from 52 to 53 would not be the same to go from 53 to 54, since the latter would involve more. And that to go from 54 to 55 would require even more than to get the previous number, and so on. Well, at least that's how I understood it.

Al igual que tú, yo empecé con una reputación de 25, y sin entender mucho su relevancia. Cuando publiqué por primera vez y salté de 25 a 48 pensé que era Rocky terminando de subir las escaleras en la película. Pero esa euforia duró poco, ya que vi cómo cada vez era más difícil alcanzar el siguiente número de reputación. Entonces comprendí que estaba diseñado así, y que el esfuerzo, el tiempo y las votaciones necesarias para pasar del 52 al 53 no serían las mismas para pasar del 53 al 54, ya que este último implicaría más. Y que para pasar del 54 al 55 se requeriría aún más que para conseguir el número anterior, y así sucesivamente. Bueno, al menos así lo he entendido yo.

That's how it works! As I continued to publish in the different communities, I was pleased to see how little by little my reputation decimals went up. Hopefully, as time goes by we will be able to do a better job and deliver a better final product, and that will not escape from the great investors and curators that have the important communities, so they will leave you their valuable post in several of them (surely, not all of them). They are the ones who help the reputation go up a little faster. All in all, it is easy to understand that, although the number of reputation has its degree of relevance (as the link I shared above shows), it is not the most important thing. There are more relevant things like quality, originality, making community, interacting with others, consuming others' content, etc.

So, at the end of April 2022 I could see that my reputation reached the number of 69. But I wasn't clear how much time passed before I could go from 68 to 69, so I decided to write it down in the calendar I have on my desk. And I kept working. Actually, there are a lot of things I have written down on that valuable calendar, so it's easy to get lost among them all. That's one of the reasons I recommend writing things down, and not leaving it all to our little heads. With a slight idea of when it had more or less taken me to move up a digit in my reputation, I estimated that I would reach 70 in about four months.

¡Así es que funciona ésto! A medida que continuaba publicando en las diferentes comunidades iba viendo con agrado cómo poco a poco subía los decimales de mi reputación. Es de esperar que con el paso del tiempo logremos hacer un mejor trabajo y logremos entregar un mejor producto final, y eso no escapará de los grandes inversionistas y curadores que tienen las importantes comunidades, así que te dejarán su valioso post en varios de ellos (seguramente, no en todos). Son ellos los que ayudan a que suba la reputación un poco más rápido. Con todo, es fácil entender de que, aunque el número de reputación tiene su grado de relevancia (tal como lo expone el link que compartí más arriba), no es lo más importante. Hay cosas más relevantes como la calidad, la originalidad, hacer comunidad, relacionarte con otros, consumir el contenido de otros, etc.

Entonces, a finales de abril 2022 pude ver que mi reputación alcanzó el número de 69. Pero no tenía claro cuánto tiempo pasó para que pudiera pasar de 68 a 69, así que decidí anotarlo en el calendario que tengo en mi escritorio. Y seguí trabajando. En realidad, hay muchas cosas que tengo anotado en ese valioso calendario, por lo que es fácil perderse entre todas ellas. Esa es una de las razones por las que recomiendo anotar las cosas, y no dejarlo todo a nuestra cabecita. Con una leve idea de cuándo más o menos había tardado en subir un dígito a mi reputación, estimé que llegaría a los 70 en unos cuatro meses.

In the middle of last week, I was pleased to see how I managed to reach the reputation of 70 after publishing my review of the European Super Cup match between Real Madrid vs. Eintracht Frankfurt that I did in the @fulldeportes community. I was very happy to reach this number. It took me three and a half months to go from one digit to another, and I can remember thanks to the timely annotation I made. And of course, I marked on my calendar when I reached 70 now.

Apart from happiness, I also feel gratitude - of course! I didn't reach that number because my content is one of the best, far from it. There are a lot of people doing a better job than me, and I try to do the best I can with what I have. So this is very much due to the great curators, investors and so many people are working hard on our blockchain to make it better and better every day. They are the ones who give their votes and help to increase our reputation.

A mitad de la semana pasada, vi con agrado cómo logré alcanzar la reputación de 70 luego de publicar mi reseña sobre el partido de la Super Copa de Europa entre el Real Madrid vs. Eintracht Frankfurt que hice en la comunidad de @fulldeportes . Estuve muy contento de alcanzar ésta cifra. Tardé tres meses y medio en pasar de un dígito a otro, y puedo acordarme gracias a la oportuna anotación que hice. Y por supuesto, marqué en mi calendario cuándo alcancé los 70 ahora.

Aparte de felicidad, también siento agradecimiento. ¡Claro! Ese número no lo alcancé porque mi contenido es uno de los mejores, ni mucho menos. Hay mucha gente haciendo un mejor trabajo que yo, y yo trato de hacer lo mejor que puedo con lo que tengo. Así que esto se debe mucho a los grandes curadores, inversionistas y tanta gente está trabajando duro en nuestra blockchain para hacerla cada día mejor y más atractiva. Son ellos los que dan sus votos y ayudan a incrementar nuestra reputación.

Also, I have understood that I have to give my contributions to the chain, therefore, I am very grateful for the timely advice that the more experienced Spanish speakers keep giving in their tutorials, Telegram groups and live events they organize. That makes you aware that we must give our best. I have tried to do it at my own pace, with the images, editing, writing and other things that I present in my final products. I appreciate the patience and support they give to material like this in the different communities, and I'm determined to be here for a long time.

So being on Hive and continuing to maintain quality and increase it is not primarily about raising my reputation, as if I want to be the best in the world, but about continuing to bring quality, interaction, hype, work and originality to the blockchain. And with this I do not want to downplay the importance of reputation, because it does have it, as indicated in the same link I shared with you. I only express my intention to continue working knowing that the increase in reputation will be an effect of that work, and it is good that it is so. It is like brewing coffee: although our main objective is to prepare a delicious cup of coffee to drink (final product), we are very grateful for the unique aroma that permeates the kitchen (reputation).

También, he entendido que tengo que dar mis aportes a la cadena, por eso, agradezco mucho los consejos oportunos que siguen dando los hispanohablantes más experimentados en sus tutoriales, grupos de Telegram y eventos en vivo que organizan. Eso te hace consciente de que debemos de dar lo mejor. He tratado de hacerlo a mi ritmo, con las imágenes, la edición, la escritura y otras cosas que presento en mis productos finales. Agradezco la paciencia y el apoyo que dan a un material así en las diferentes comunidades, y estoy resuelto a seguir aquí mucho tiempo.

Así que estar en Hive y seguir manteniendo la calidad e incrementarla no se trata principalmente de subir mi reputación, como si quisiera ser el mejor del mundo, sino de seguir aportando calidad, interacción, propaganda, trabajo y originalidad a la blockchain. Y con ésto no quiero quitarle importancia al tema de la reputación, porque sí la tiene, como lo indica el mismo enlace que les compartí. Sólo manifiesto mi intención de seguir trabajando sabiendo que el incremento de la reputación será un efecto de ese trabajo, y que bueno que sea así. Es como preparar café: aunque nuestro principal objetivo es preparar una deliciosa taza de café para tomárnosla (producto final), agradecemos mucho el aroma inigualable con el que se impregna la cocina (reputación).
