Integrando un grupo de 13 personas, visitamos Punta Arena, estado Sucre, Venezuela, durante los días 26 al 29 de Septiembre del 2010 en uno de los mejores viajes que he realizado. Pero como dije, para alcanzar las metas trazadas se amerita esfuerzos. En ésa oportunidad implicó ahorrar el dinero necesario, conseguir los insumos, y dejar todo en orden laboralmente para ausentarse ésos días. También, hacer un viaje por tierra de varias horas.🚗 🚙
Integrating a group of 13 people, we visited Punta Arena, Sucre State, Venezuela, during the 26th to 29th of September 2010 in one of the best trips I have ever done. But as I said, to achieve the goals set, efforts are needed. In that opportunity it implied to save the necessary money, to obtain the supplies, and to leave everything in labor order to be absent those days. Also, to make a trip by land of several hours.🚗🚙
Aún así, encontramos inconvenientes inesperados. El estado de la carretera cerca del lugar de la posada donde llegaríamos impedía que pasaran los vehículos. Luego de evaluar las opciones se tomó una decisión arriesgada ya cayendo la noche: dejar los vehículos en una casa cercana con personas desconocidas, bajar todos los equipos, alimentos, bolsos, y terminar de llegar a pie y haciendo el trasbordo en otro vehículo. Bueno, los lectores venezolanos saben de que esto es un riesgo considerable. Muchos dueños de vehículos no dejarían una inversión tan grande durante toda una noche con desconocidos a varios minutos de distancia de donde dormirán (si es que pueden)😵. Aún así, hicimos todo eso ya en la noche. Y por supuesto, en una mano cargando el bolso💼, y en la otra disparando la cámara.📸
Even so, we found unexpected inconveniences. The condition of the road near the place of the inn where we would arrive made it impossible for vehicles to pass. After evaluating the options, a risky decision was made as night fell: to leave the vehicles in a nearby house with unknown people, to unload all the equipment, food, bags, and to finish arriving on foot and making the transfer to another vehicle. Well, Venezuelan readers know that this is a considerable risk. Many vehicle owners would not leave such a large investment for an entire night with strangers a few minutes away from where they will sleep (if they can)😵. Still, we did all that already at night. And of course, in one hand carrying the bag,💼 and in the other hand shooting the camera.📸
Estaba claro de que esperaba no perderme ningún detalle de éste lugar. El lema era "acostarse tarde y levantarse temprano". Y para poder documentar el amanecer en la playa, decidí levantarme bien temprano: a las... (¿están listos?) 5:00 a.m. (por favor, no me juzguen). Al sonar el despertador, libré una intensa batalla con la cobija, y luego de vencer, salí de la posada con cautela de no despertar a algunos, con dirección a la playa en modo zombie. Pero, de nuevo, sin semejante esfuerzo, no hubiese obtenido éste maravilloso recuerdo. Todas las fotos usadas en ésta publicación fueron tomadas con mi cámara compacta Samsung ST500. Éste primer disparo tuvo lugar a las 5:32 a.m.
It was clear that I was hoping not to miss any details of this place. The slogan was "go to bed late and get up early". And in order to photograph the sunrise on the beach, I decided to get up very early: at... (are you ready?) 5:00 a.m. (please don't judge me). When the alarm clock rang, I fought an intense battle with the blanket, and after winning, I left the inn with the caution of not waking up some, heading for the beach in zombie mode. But, again, without such an effort, I would not have obtained this wonderful memory. All the photos used in this publication were taken with my compact Samsung ST500 camera. This first shot took place at 5:32 a.m.

😨¿En serio? Cuando llego a la playa creyendo que merezco un premio por lograr levantarme temprano, te encuentras a estos tipos que ya hicieron los mismo que yo hace rato, empujaron su peñero y zarparon al mar. Yo apenas podía levantar los brazos para fotografiar. Anyway... Al poco tiempo los primeros rayos del sol empiezan a agregar contraste al paisaje.
😨Really? When I get to the beach thinking I deserve a prize for getting up early, you find these guys who did the same thing I did a while ago, pushed their crag and set sail. I could barely raise my arms to take a picture. Anyway... Soon the first sunrays begin to add contrast to the landscape.

Apenas había empezado el día y ya había recordado una verdad importante: "El tiempo pasa más rápido de lo que a veces nos damos cuenta". En unos cuantos minutos ya había visto como la oscuridad se torna en luz, como un paisaje monocromático enciende sus radiantes colores al ser tocado por el sol. Ya sabía que ése amanecer no sería igual a ningún otro en ése lugar. Pero estuve a ahí, y lo disfruté muchísimo. El día avanzó y ya con plena luz se contempla el paisaje en pleno.
I had barely begun the day and had already remembered an important truth: "Time passes faster than we sometimes realize". In a few minutes I had seen how darkness turns into light, how a monochromatic landscape ignites its radiant colors when touched by the sun. I already knew that that sunrise would not be the same as any other in that place. But I was there, and I enjoyed it very much. The day advanced and already with full light you can contemplate the landscape in full.

Nada que reprochar a ésta playa. Buena temperatura, oleaje moderado, sin piedras ni algas, agua cristalina, vista impresionante, tranquilidad, paz...
Nothing to reproach this beach for. Good temperature, moderate waves, no stones or algae, crystal clear water, impressive view, tranquility, peace...
Ahora bien, quise darle un espacio también al lugar preferido de la posada donde estuvimos.
Now, I wanted to give a space also to the favorite place of the inn where we were.
El día terminaba, y éstas fueron las últimas imágenes del día.
The day was ending, and these were the last images of the day.

Todos los esfuerzos que se hicieron por materializar éste viaje bien valieron la pena. Lo mismo ocurre en varios campos de la vida, pero eso de ninguna manera nos desanima. Porque sabemos que podemos cosechar el fruto de nuestros sacrificios.
All the efforts that were made to materialize this trip were well worth it. The same is true in various fields of life, but that certainly does not discourage us. Because we know that we can reap the fruit of our sacrifices.
En ésta primera parte presenté la apariencia de la playa a medida que transcurre un día normal. La segunda parte la dedicaré a fotos de pequeños objetos playeros y flora que observé en el lugar.
